Thinking inside Russia: Operation Stunning
Russian philosopher and author Alexander Dugin warns that only a run of shock and admiration can crush Western arrogance and reconstruct Russia's appropriate meaning.
Interview with Alexander Dugin on Sputnik tv Escalation.
Presenter:
I would like to start with a truly crucial topic, which everyone understands. Yesterday Vladimir Vladimirovich announced successful tests of the Burewestnik rocket – a fresh rocket capable of orbiting the planet for months, possibly worrying the West and all another country. Western media, specified as the fresh York Times, called this rocket “flying Chernobyl”, claiming to have destabilized the situation and complicated arms control. Western consequence was very strong. I wonder: How will this rocket affect the balance of power? What benefits does he offer us at this stage?
Alexander Dugin:
Firstly, I must admit that I am not an expert in arms proliferation and I hesitate to give the impression of amateurism in this area. I'm a sociologist who studies geopolitics and political psychology, so I'm going to analyse the subject from these perspectives, possibly with a small philosophy.
I think Trump, influenced by neoconservatives, created a misconception of Russia's position in the conflict in Ukraine, our capabilities, our interests, our values and what we are and what we are not ready to do. We cannot find a common ground with Trump, who is convinced that the pressure, threats or raising of voice is adequate to end the conflict in Ukraine. He must quit his conviction and change his thinking. It's hard to do with words. There were negotiations at Anchorage, meetings between our president and Trump. He is an impulsive man who lives the moment, is angry and aggressive, but respects strength and firm reaction. We realize that we have tried different approaches to communicating with him, but he refuses to take a "soft" approach. He sees all kind of kindness as a sign of weakness.
When we say: “We are open to dialogue”, He thinks we're powerless to proceed the war. erstwhile we propose a compromise, he replies: "Only on our terms: ceasefire, then we will solve it". Basically, it is incorrect to see Russia, the main nuclear, military and economical power, as a subordinate, specified as a protectorate, specified as Europe, Ukraine and Israel. We recognized it. Neither kindness, nor declarations, nor reasonable formulas work for it. He sees kindness as weakness, reason as cowardice, and willingness to compromise as surrender. It's totally incorrect and it's never been good. We must show our strength. president Vladimir Vladimirovich utilized the word oshelomlenje ‘shock’, ‘shocking’, referring to this issue – The West must be shocked by our actions. The Burewester test, called Flying Chernobyl, is simply a step in this direction. But that's not enough; we gotta decision on.
We must intimidate the West due to the fact that they deficiency rational arguments. Only something truly frightening can force them to talk to Russia on equal terms.
Presenter:
Is the fact that Burevestnik can stay in the air for a long time and is almost impossible to track or shoot down not scary adequate in itself?
Alexander Dugin:
The point is, the West sees our statements with skepticism. I studied the Western press: many describe the Burewester as a bluff, a fantasy weapon, doubting its advantages and convinced that they will find remedies. This will always be the case: our shows of forces meet with accusations of distrust and deception. Dmitry Seims rightly emphasizes: To overcome bluffing, a real show of force is needed.
The West bluffs more skillfully: modest achievements are exaggerated as “great breakthroughs”. Trump says in a bombastic style: “Great! Wonderful! Absolutely!” His rhetoric, full of power and confidence, impresses people as the cobra hypnotizes the rabbit. Our 35 years of diplomacy were based on another foundation: “Let us avoid conflicts, let us find compromises and consider our interests.” Answer: “Great, we will crush you!”
The precise strikes that leave Iran's atomic program intact are presented as victories. The media capture it, and Trump himself believes Iran is “on its knees”. These are self-fulfilling prophecies: they announce a “destructive attack”, represent a fabricated consequence and operate in virtual reality. Our revelations and arguments are not impressive. Trump's failures are announced by victories and receive media coverage.
We must attack a delicate point that cannot be ignored. I have no thought what it's gonna be. The president talks about stunning: The West must be shocked. We launched the Burvestnik, but there was no response. Even if they're scared, They say Russia is bluffing, its economy is weak, sanctions are effective, and assets can be seized. We are facing hell. Trump, although he looks better, is practically at war with Biden. He keeps saying, “This is not my war”, but he acts as if it were his own. He will shortly say, “This is my war and I will win it in 1 day.” We request to change our rhetoric beautiful badly. They don't follow the formalities while we inactive politely accept the punches. Kirill Dmitriev, in Gorbachev's spirit, tries to normalize relations with the US, but see it as a white flag, surrender.
Presenter:
We will then discuss Kirilla Dmitriev's visit, the president of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, and the normalization or absence of Russian-American relations. I want to get back to the point about Deafness. Before you suggested that this might be the beginning ‘Operation Shock’, linked to attacks on infrastructure in Ukraine. What's Operation Shock? Do you mean a show of force with our missiles on the battlefield?
Alexander Dugin:
Again, I'm not a weapons expert, but I'm studying collective consciousness. Sometimes a small, targeted drone can have more impact than the demolition of the full infrastructure of Ukraine, especially if this demolition is not noticed.
We live in a planet of symbols and images in which there is no direct connection between our strength and its perception. I'm not telling you what to attack – models must be calculated. For example, with Zelenski, it is 1 reality; without it, it is simply a completely different reality. They're certain we won't be able to beat it. Their goal is not to liberate Ukraine, but to wage war with us by others. As long as Zelenski exists, even if he is alone, it is integrated into their propaganda and everything becomes “fantastic, wonderful”. destruct the infrastructure – they'll hide it. The military sees real satellite maps and images, but the society that decides on sanctions or attacks shows manipulated photos.
Manipulating reality is not new; it is simply a postmodern Western approach over the past 30 years. Military operations are ineffective without media support, without striking images, even without images generated by artificial intelligence. A combination of military activities, politics, explanations, visual images and demonstrations is required to convince the audience. If it's not shown, it's like it never happened.
We were not prepared for this kind of war – it is simply a fresh challenge for us. We measurement success with the number of killed and liberated territory, pardoning our enemies, preparing a "good will gesture" for 20,000 killers in a boiler. What we request is an act of rebellion that is directed at our opponents, not at ourselves. This requires not only military strategy, but besides media control. To stun the West, especially in the context of Trump's escalation, you must force them to shout: "This is frighteningly fantastic, the Russians have crossed all boundaries!" – while they inactive insist that we are weak, we do not decision forward, we avoid decisive action and do not make concessions.
But there are actions that rhetoric cannot distort. They must be applied. Methods exist.
Presenter:
You mentioned the attacks on Bankov [Street]. Is that a amazing factor?
Alexander Dugin:
The attack on Banking was so much debated that it lost its meaning. I do not know what it will be – a tiny drone, an electronic pigeon, an incomprehensible microscopic element, or a Burewestnik coming from the sky. possibly a tiny mosquito will destruct Yermak and Budanov or something more fundamental. I don't make decisions; I don't know our options and I don't give advice. The liable must make a decision. But: it's dangerous to announce a stun and not stun.
Our rhetoric sharpens, we show our capabilities, and people are waiting for our next move.. We must stun our enemies to be truly shocked. I monitor the Western consequence – they are silent about Oreshnik and Burewestnik. Trump doesn't seem concerned.
In this terrifying game of demanding the destiny of humanity, I analyse her psychology, sociology, geopolitics, and even the smallest gestures. But there's no stun.
We're not done yet. Our goal is not to convince them of our power, but to shake them. If Trump says, “This is not my war”, he will cut off their support channels and leave Europeans alone, we will surprise some. We must shake Albion, Paris and Chancellor Merzem. The attack of unknown drones alarmed them, but did not shake them. We request something amazing. We request to halt having the illusion that they'll take us seriously. We are stronger, more dangerous and more powerful than they think. We gotta prove it, And that's surgery stunning. So far, there are no results. We gotta continue.
Presenter:
Let me explain: Kyryll Budanov is on the list of terrorists and extremists. I would like to add to your remarks: Trump said, “They are not playing with us, and we are not playing with them.” What does that mean?
Alexander Dugin:
Nothing. Like a small cough. We could say the same thing: “We play, they play.” erstwhile Trump has nothing to say, he'll make any ridiculous comment that makes sense, but it doesn't make sense. That means we don't surprise him. erstwhile we surprise him, he'll talk coherently. For now it is his usual trolling – interpret him as you want; he doesn't even realize what he says. His determination to escalate to a fresh atomic escalation was not broken. Unfortunately.
Presenter:
I have 1 last question about Operation Shock. For example, if Jermak or Zelenski were removed, as you mentioned, do you not think that European media and politicians would immediately usage this to make the image of a martyr and explain to their citizens that there is now a direct threat requiring preparations for war with Russia? They are presently manipulating facts to paint an obscure picture, and this would supply them with the perfect tool.
Alexander Dugin:
Perhaps so. But if anyone wants to fight us, they'll start a war, whether they find an excuse or not. I don't insist on making circumstantial decisions. Operation Shock has been announced and I believe that this is simply a timely and correct decision. However, the nature of the operation is the sole authority of the Chief Leader and military-political leadership. I do not propose or impose anything – I just present examples.
But remember this: if we do not stun them, they will prepare for war more effectively and faster. We say, “Now we will stun them”, but we do not act. They will then carry out the provocation themselves – sending a “comar” to Zelenski, blaming the Russians and us for everything. Operations under the false flag are standard practice in modern politics. If we don't act, they'll do it for us and usage it against us.
The reality has lost its credibility – it no longer exists. Everything depends on appearances. Power images are missing. They say the Russians are dangerous, but irrelevant. We're threatening, but we're helpless. It paves the way for their aggression: an image of a ruthless but weak enemy specified as Saddam Hussein or Hamas. They lure us into this trap, and we don't resist. We repeat: "We are peaceful, we do not want to attack." They reply, “They are weak, they hide their threats, they fear they will be exposed.” This is simply a unilateral information war.
There are uncommon opportunities – respective but there are – that may undermine their strategy of information attack. We must attack their information bubble, not the West or Ukraine. This bubble is dangerous: tIt sets the image that justifies the real war against us – like the Tomahawk missiles and the atomic submarines Trump mentioned. They believe attacks like this on Iran will force us to surrender. The more we declare, “We will not attack, we will follow the rules”, the stronger the impression of our weakness. We took 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers into captivity, exchanged them, created conditions – this is seen as weakness. How can we change that? But it's necessary.
We request to introduce mechanisms that take into account the information dimension. Their lies are not harmless – they lead to rocket attacks in our territory. Then we must respond decisively. They integrate everything into their communicative – peace, firmness, negotiation, decisive action. How can we halt their information war at this critical moment? We gotta halt the aggression that the West is approaching. The balance between rationality and force requires precise tuning. Escalation or endless avoidance is equivalent to surrender.
This is the art of war, advanced politics, the art of fighting for sovereignty and national interests. Politics is simply a conflict for existence – a philosophical category. any rulers have this art while others wreak havoc. We must not remainder on our laurels – over us there are storm clouds. It's time to look for allies for a possible war.
I propose establishing a military alliance with China: If the West understands that the attack on us will trigger the reaction of our allies, it will discourage them. If their attention moves to Taiwan, we must support China. We're on the verge of doing this. Russia and China are large economic, geopolitical and military powers. We must strengthen our ties with India and another countries.
The litmus test is the US's aggression to Venezuela and Colombia. If they change regimes there, it's a threat to us. This is their Monroe doctrine, their “Ukraine” and they will not stop. Success will increase their assurance in their ability to act against us and China. We must step up our geopolitical efforts in Latin America. If we let Trump easy change regimes there, our situation will deteriorate.
Presenter:
So should we deliver the weapons?
Alexander Dugin:
Everyone, Iran, Hezbollah, Venezuela. Actively, massively, unfettered, as the United States does. At the same time, let's say, “We are behind the room, Trump, you are great, but this is business.” Maduro pays for Oreshnik missiles and air defence systems – that's a deal. As Trump said, “It’s a deal”. If you live with wolves, howl like a wolf. This is stunning.
And we say, "We will not support Hamas, Hezbollah, we will scope an agreement in Syria, we will aid Iran from afar, we will not form military alliances within BRICS." This makes us “Czechs” – not scary, crazy cartoon characters preparing to attack. The West depicts the war with Russia as a cartoon.
Now we gotta disrupt their “cranberry” war plan. Trump is strong in his MAGA ideology, but he acts monstrously, not at our expense. Our stakes lie not only in the line of contact, but besides in Russia's global position. We are the polar opposite, and in the mediate East we must take a stand towards our friends and enemies, establish alliances and supply military and financial assistance with anticipation of reciprocity. This applies to Africa, Asia and Latin America. The large power takes care of everything, even Falkland Islands.
Do we have resources?
If our resources are insufficient, any relocation will cost us our sovereignty. We are surrounded and the enemy will request more – the colonization of Russia. The West talks about it day and night, creating resources for our collapse – conspiracy, government change operations. If we show weakness – Africa, Latin America, mediate East, Asia will not be ours. Then they will say, “Syberia is not yours, the North Caucasus is not yours.”
Western hegemony is simply a device operating in fresh network realities. Artificial intelligence is an excellent example. Like Elon Musk, we accept him without knowing that he has liberal land mines embedded in him. It could detonate like Hezbollah's pagers. We do not realize the scale of the conflict we are presently engaged in. We do not realize the method side, recruitment based on grants of our science, culture and economy. The West infiltrated us and left the back door in all institution – democracy, free market. In the 1990s, we gave the keys to the city to the enemy. And we inactive haven't full liberated ourselves. We fight at all level, including information level, but we don't always know how. We think the conflict may be local, but it's global.
Presenter:
We think in good faith, but the planet is not ready for that. You mentioned allies and China. I want to explain: Donald Trump's current visit and his upcoming gathering with Xi Jinping on October 30 – what should we anticipate from this? any media reports that Trump will effort to redirect China's energy distant from Russia.
Alexander Dugin:
This is partially the reason why he goes there, but not just because. Trump abandoned his MAGA doctrine and took a neoconservative position. It's a tool in the hands of people like Lindsey Graham. Its goal is to build alliances in Southeast Asia with threats, bribes and offers that, in his opinion, China cannot refuse. This is war. He says, "I'm competing with China," but he fights us. Biden, Obama, neoconservatives – this is Trump today.
Trump isn't just fighting China; he's making deals against us. Xi Jinping is improbable to take extremist measures against us, but we must work to prevent this. We request to build a strong partnership with China. Our president is working tirelessly on this, but the mechanisms of Russian politics are sometimes incapable to adapt to these challenges – they are besides slow, bureaucratic and burdensome. Putin acts like a hero, as if the destiny of humanity depended on him, but his instructions drown in paperwork, and the vertical structure becomes horizontal. We request to accelerate our alliances with those who share the multipolar programme – militarily, economically and strategically. Operation Shock has respective phases: taking affirmative steps in global politics, making fresh friends and supporting allies.
Trump's visit is simply a hostile move. He's plotting and making deals against us. He thinks he has control, but Russia is simply a sovereign state, and he won't be obeyed. He's active in our conflict, waiting for an easy victory. Europe besides complains, but follows neoconservatives. And it's dangerous.
