Moratorium – Sabotaging Hunting

wildmen.pl 2 months ago

Opponents of hunting across Europe are trying to introduce a moratorium on hunting. Their activities have nothing to do with nature conservation – it is only an effort to shorten the list of chaotic species.

For almost 2 years, Undersecretary Mikołaj Doroża has been spreading anti-catching visions in the media and telling about the ban on duck hunting, baldies, gerbils and elephants. Last year he pushed for the introduction of a moratorium, then wanted to shorten the list of hunting species, and now he's again trying to force the moratorium.

These activities have nothing to do with actual conservation of nature. Scientists and all major environmental monitoring organisations for decades have stressed that it is crucial to defend habitats and reduce predators, and in these areas the Ministry of Climate and Environment has no idea!

Mikołaj Dorożała, since the first day of sitting in the ministerial chair, seems to focus solely on the “destroy” environment of foresters and hunters. Fortunately, the ideas of anti-hunting organizations on hunting must be accepted by the Ministry of Agriculture. The position of Minister Czesław Siekierski (PSL) on this issue is highly clear: he will NOT sign on to changing the terms of hunting, nor to extend the list of protected species.

Sabotage strategy

Just as in Poland, opponents of hunting in France managed to convince Minister of Environmental Transformation, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, who besides announced last week's desire to introduce a moratorium into 9 species of hunting. The Minister seeks to suspend or shorten the hunting period for: melancholes, pards, balls, edredons, conjugals, cyrannies, flatnoses, quails.

If this task is yet adopted, there is no uncertainty that French hunters will go on the streets of Paris. For a million active hunters in France, hunting birds is the basis of hunting traditions. all regulation on this substance is treated there as an effort on fundamental rights and civilian liberties!

The French moratorium on 9 species has no substantive justification. The fact is that no country in the European Union, or even the European Commission itself, has reliable data on the actual abundance and breeding success of individual species of birds.

Manipulation of the warring vegans

Anti-fishing organizations are not truly curious in nature conservation. Their sole nonsubjective is to ban all hunting, so they operate simultaneously on 2 levels. On the 1 hand, they have an impact on officials in Brussels and on politicians in individual associate States.

To this end, a peculiar European Commission task force was set up, which last year analysed the number of 33 migratory birds in Europe. Unfortunately, the conclusions it has drawn were based solely on data on breeding populations, completely ignoring bird migrations from Russia. This is simply a clear proof of data manipulation and understatement of actual numbers.

The nonsubjective and reliable assessment of the conservation position of individual migratory species must mention to the full European population, taking into account all migration routes. The data presented by the hunting opponents is deliberately undervalued.

For any species, the figures were lower than the number of birds hunted only in France during the last season, as the French Hunting Federation emphasizes...

RCL takes down Dorola

For many decades, hunters in Europe have been calling on politicians to introduce regulations that will effectively defend habitats. Further bans for hunters will not reverse negative trends, but only translate into an increase in the number of predators whose force will yet "beat" endangered species.

The opponents of the hunt may effort to mock the arguments of the Ministry of Agriculture, which consistently stands in the position that the plan of introducing a moratorium on baldheads, headheads, melanomas and crosswords will have an adverse effect on agriculture. However, they will find it hard to argue with the Government Legislative Centre (RCL)...

In this case, you can see in black and white that the co-workers of Nicholas Dorożala do not have the same thought not only about conservation of nature, but besides do not know the basics of correct legislation. RCL made it clear in its opinion on 10 June that the Ministry of Climate and Environment, if it wants to introduce a moratorium, must at the same time amend the regulation on chaotic and protected species.

As an example of appropriate conduct, RCL pointed to a deer pee, which in 2022 passed on to the list of invasive species, lost its protective period and disappeared from the hunting list!

We inactive have 2 months until the period opens. Undersecretary Dorożała has no chance to amend the applicable regulations during this time. This year, September 1st is Monday, so we can easy plan the first hunt on August 30!
