Prayer That Saves Life

It was expected to last 3 months, it has continued for 45 years. The Crusade of Prayer in the defence of the Concepted Children since the beginning of its existence has combined thousands of people in a common prayer in pro-life intentions.

– 27 April 1956. The Polish Parliament passed a bill allowing abortion. Its effects were tragic. The Polish Episcopal Memorial to the Government on the biological and moral threats of the Polish nation of 1970 contains the following information: "On an yearly basis, the number of artificial abortions is about a million". Against this background, the Catholic Church called for the protection of the lives of conceived children," says Dr. Adam Kisiel, co-founder of the Crusade of Prayer in the Defendance of the Concepted Children, and adds that in consequence to the papal call for prayer given in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and Nowy Targ in 1979, secular Catholics focused at the Ministry of Families and Academic Pastorate in Krakow performed the exhibition "The Life of the Man from Conception is sacred". They besides decided to organize prayer in full connection with the Church. For this purpose, Dr. Antoni Zięba and Dr. Adam Kisiel, who was active in the defence of human life, went to the Krakow Curia for help. – Metropolitan of Krakow, Fr. Franciszek Macharski recommended us to the household Ministry, where we received very crucial for us, lay people, support from Fr Władysław Gasidla, Dr Wanda Połtawska and Maria Nieniewska, as well as Fr Franciszek Płonka (Academic Duszpastwo) and Fr Edward Stańka (Scientific Workers' Duszpastwo) – says Dr Adam Kisiel.

The Crusade of Prayer in the defence of the Concepted Children began on October 12, 1980, on the eve of the anniversary of the Fatima apparitions, on the day that was established by the Father of the Holy planet Day of Prayer in the Intention of Families, for the approval and blessing of Fr. Initially, the Crusade prayer was to last for 3 months. "The regular commitment to participate during this period in Holy Mass with the adoption of Holy Communion in the intention of defending the lives of children conceived took about 1.5 1000 people. More than 1,000 sick people besides joined the prayer, who committed themselves to refusing a part of the rosary and to donate their sufferings in the intention of the Crusade," recalls the co-founder of the Crusade.

Since 1980 organizers of the Crusade of Prayer in the defence of the Concepted Children received about 100 1000 applications from all over Poland. Prayer of so many people in pro-life intentions has brought and continues to bear fruit. Dr. Ing replaces them. Adam Kisiel: – After more than 12 years of prayer there was a miracle. The Almighty God the Father showed his mercy. He made that in a country that became mostly a free country in 1989, in conditions of democracy, so in conditions where nothing can be imposed in advance, the civilization of death was reversed. On 7 January 1993, the bill allowing the killing of conceived children was replaced with a bill fundamentally protecting life (three exceptions were left at the time). God did not halt at this blessing for Poland. In liturgical memory of St. John Paul II, 22 October 2020, The Constitutional Tribunal stated that the legal provisions allowing abortion on unborn children suspected of disability are incompatible with the Polish Constitution. As a consequence of this ruling of the Constitutional Court, 1 of the objectives of our prayer Crusade was partially achieved.

This year the Crusaders pray in propitiatory intentions for sins against the life of man committed in our Homeland; thank you for the large good we have experienced, and especially for the saved children, the saved consciences of mothers and fathers and wellness professionals and for the introduction of government protecting unborn life; begging for a further increase in respect for the life of the unborn, sick and aged and begging for the introduction into the Constitution of the Republic of Poland the legal protection of the life of all man from conception to natural death.

The Crusaders who can join in prayer at any time they choose commit to prayer and fasting in intentions appointed by the Crusaders. Adam Kisiel notes: – Taking a fast on Wednesdays does not necessarily include fasting on meat. Prayer for conceived children goes beyond our borders. Its fruits are countless saved children, strengthened families and renewed consciences," says Joanna Banasik, the coordinator of the Crusade of Prayer in the defence of the Concepted Children.

The coordinator points out that prayer in pro-life intentions is inactive needed and encourages you to sign up for the Crusade of Prayer in the defence of the Concepted Children: - Throughout the European Union, the request for abortion is increasingly promoted as a "human right". In March 2024, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for access to abortion in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, which is besides a challenge for Poland, where attempts are increasingly being made to liberalise the law protecting life.
