History and the process of nationalization never runs in vacuum. Poles and Ukrainians share an highly hard past, and the word "common past of violence" reflects its character well. Ukrainians have a lesson to learn about nationalism, but Poles should be able to refute historical myths, including those that present Poland only in a affirmative light in Ukraine during the period of the erstwhile Republic.
