The man who, during the Catholic Church's co-organised Lisbon March for Life threw a bottle of gasoline into its participants was accused of terrorism, passed the Portuguese justice strategy today. The allegations are based, among others, on the results of the search at the aggressor's house, which, as proved by the investigation, acted for ideological reasons.
At the home of a 39-year-old man, police officers found, among others, substances utilized to prepare explosives. In the course of the investigation, it was found that the detainee was not a madman, but acted deliberately to maim as many people as possible at the March for Life.
The incidental occurred late on the afternoon of March 21, erstwhile a group of parents with children threw a Molotov cocktail in the Portuguese parliament. Although the bottle was broken, there was no inflammation of the flammable substance.
The March for Life was held in respective cities of Portugal as part of a demonstration of support for life from conception to natural death. respective tens of thousands of people, mainly young people, participated. The largest demonstration took place in the centre of Lisbon, the capital of the country, including pro-life activists, Catholic associations and right-wing politicians. Its participants demanded that political parties have ceased their efforts to legalise euthanasia for respective years, and besides demanded a ban on on on-demand abortion in force since 2007, which can be carried out in Portugal until the 10th week of pregnancy.
