“[... In shaping your own kind in fresh times, it is worth looking for fresh meaning, and here, what seems to be a global synthesis of inspiration. Mateusz Gawęda, following this principle, seems to be heading towards full piano, thus developing the concept of a progressive forte-pian trio, where I have my place of recognized compositions of specified excellent pianists as Marilyn Crispell, Vi-jay Iyer or Matthew Shipp. Gawęda, ideally found in this imagination of full mathematics, perfectly leads his squad – sometimes very spatially, precisely, ambiguously, sometimes close to the jazz idiom. This is the full fact about the music trio – demanding, intelligent, pulsating with a multitude of meanings and solutions, profoundly emotional, very complex and intellectual. It is said that this is how large musical personalities work.”
