- The Lithuanian authorities were not informed by Poland about the introduction of controls on the Polish-Lithuanian border - said Giedrius Miszutis, spokesperson for the Lithuanian border guard. These words were in consequence to Donald Tusk's announcement of the anticipation of specified action. The Prime Minister stated that "steps will be taken to guarantee that people from the Lithuanian direction do not arrive illegally crossing the border".
Mishutis explained in his interview with BNS that the problem concerns secondary migration and stressed that "migrants detained by Poles illegally crossed the Belarusian-Latvian border, not Belarusian-Lithuanian".
The Ombudsman reported that this year Over 300 people have already been detained, most - Lithuania. He besides added that the number of attempts to illegally cross the border Latvia is much larger than Lithuania.
"Migrants see where it's easier to cross the border and go there," Mishutis noted.

As he added, "the same concerns the possible reintroduction of controls at the Polish-Lithuanian border".
