The word of office from 2001 to 2005 seems more distant present than the passage of time would suggest. Initially, the downright crushing, and then crumbling period by month, dominance of the strategy originating from the erstwhile Polish People's Republic, increasing conflicts between the PSL and the Democratic Left Alliance, and later besides within the Democratic Left Alliance itself. The "cold friendship" between Leszek Miller and Aleksander Kwaśniewski. The first major scandals and investigative committees, and with them the seemingly inevitable march of fresh right-wing parties to joint power. However, things turned out differently, in 2015 the real fight was already between PiS and PO. It was then that the opposing slogans of "liberal Poland" and "solidary Poland" appeared. This division convinced many Poles, but sometimes politicians themselves forget about it.
