The far - left English university in Sheffield officially warns English literature students of force in the Bible. Fragments containing, among others, the description of Christ's crucifixion were marked as "irritable contents". Interestingly, there are no specified objections to the Muslim Quran and the judaic books of the Talmud and Shulchan Aruch.
The University of Sheffield has released a message that the Bible contains descriptions of “dramatic injuries”. In this context, the past of the brothers Cain and Abel is mentioned. Critics of censorship indicate that the Bible does not mention how Cain kills Abel. However, the main emphasis of the Levites went against the fresh Testament and descriptions of the Passion of Jesus Christ.
Surprisingly, the efforts of the university authorities have been powerfully resisted. The manager of Christian Legal Center, Andrea Williams called the usage of warnings about "irritable content" in relation to the communicative of salvation "absurd". According to her, the memory of Jesus ’ martyrdom shaped our civilization.
– Suggesting that the communicative of crucifixion includes “sexual violence” is not only inaccurate, but is simply a profoundly erroneous reading of the text. The account of Jesus ’ death is not a tale of trauma, but the eventual expression of love, sacrifice, and redemption that are crucial to the Christian religion – she noted.
Fr Michael Nazir-Ali, erstwhile Anglican bishop of Rochester, who had late returned to actual religion (he converted to Catholicism), said: – cognition of the Bible is essential if English literature is studied. Students must be exposed to what is unpleasant and frightening to learn to deal with it. The Bible is very restrained in describing both Abel’s execution by Cain and the crucifixion, especially if we compare the accounts of the evangelists with that of Mel Gibson’s Passion.
Jeremy Black, author of the book Short History, stressed that "Bible narratives and classical narratives argue good – evil in space, in society and in individuals. These struggles are simple and fundamental... Students should face the power of these texts, their uncompromising character and the violentness of the way to redemption."
OUR COMMENTS: Levitical and progressive are indeed unusual states of mind. On the 1 hand, the Levites abhor all harm to humans and animals, and on the another hand openly call for the execution of unborn children and the persecution of their political opponents. As you can see, hypocrisy and double standards are their integral feature, as is common folly.
By the way, it may be better for the Levites not to read the Bible, for they might inactive encounter, for example, a fewer passages of judaic ritual killings. Why do they request that kind of cognitive dissonance? Better to live in ignorance and swallow propaganda slogans.
We besides recommend: Jews raped a Palestinian prisoner. They say they should be rewarded for that.
