Welcome to the spring! In a healthy body and in a healthy spirit

instytutsprawobywatelskich.pl 2 years ago

It is widely known that in March as in a pot, in April the wheat, and of course 1 swallow of spring does not make, but inactive I powerfully sense its coming, in all my green, vibrant glory. And although it has been a while since the fresh Year’s resolutions were drawn up, although the January crowds pushing on the gyms have broken down, it may be worth returning to good habits for this coming spring to welcome her to the full vitality.

Sound besides optimistic or possibly even (about horror!) coaching? Nothing like that. Relax. This text will not be about how to lose 20 kg in a period or how wonderfully to change your life for the better. No 1 will do anything for us, and surely not any columnist writing in the spirit of “spring, but it is you!” while there is so much evil going on in the world. Yeah, so much bad, all over the depressing news. This is for a change, alternatively of a regular dose of fear and anxiety – a fewer shy tips on how to regain peace of head and energy in the body.

Walk – the simplest form of movement at your fingertips

In a capitalist, "service" world, most of us work in front of computers, in a sitting position. And our spines don't like it very much. After an eight-hour conflict to survive, we frequently don't feel like doing anything good for our body. any of us instinctively reject the thought of pressing the last sweats at the gym – and there is nothing incorrect with that. Worse, if the only remainder is to look at tv screens, smartphones or laptops, of course again in a sitting position.

And now the simple, banal truth, the mystery of the polysinel in fact (not so much a secret that everyone knows and nobody talks about; here rather: everyone knows that it would be appropriate to do and nobody does) – we can go for a walk.

It is said that half an hr a day is good or that the best 10 1000 steps (which is most likely about 5 km). Don't you want to number it? Don't count, just come as much as you can, oxygenate. I'm certain your body will thank you for that.

If this is not convincing enough, due to the fact that “so small time” or “so awful weather” (there is no bad weather, there are only bad clothes), let me remember (because in explanation we all know about it) the benefits of walking.

By oxygenating, we accelerate the blood flow in the body, and thus improve the functioning of the heart, respiratory strategy and tense system. A walk is besides a good way to relieve stress and improve well-being, as endorphins are secreted during it, including the celebrated hormone of happiness or serotonin.

Systematic walking will yet improve our immunity – first, nothing kills her as well as dry air, second – walking on sunny days, increase the secretion of vitamin D. erstwhile it comes to “esthetic” qualities – a lively walk yes, it can accelerate our metabolism and aid burn calories. Is that not enough? Insighters will surely find even more positive. And, let's emphasise, this is truly the simplest, least demanding form of motion. It's worth starting today...

Higher degree of “introduction” – swimming pool

I realize that this form of athletics is no longer for everyone. Well, due to the fact that “I am afraid of water, I can’t swim” or the best I’ve heard and can’t argue with that “I don’t like water due to the fact that water is wet” ... Sure, fear (although it can be overcome), antipathy, "wetness" of water – we will not discuss it. But with those who say it's besides much to do with this dressing, drying or that in bad weather it's easy to get sick erstwhile we go out with wet head – we can already. Let's repeat like a mantra: bad weather is gone, just inappropriate clothes. And for swimming, it's truly worth a while longer to dry out. That's why.

First of all, swimming is both preventive and rehabilitation due to the fact that swimming involves fundamentally all muscles. And if we do it right, we don't burden our backs or joints. On the contrary: we strengthen the muscles, especially the back, which sustains our spine, so swimming is simply a good way to correct posture defects, and the flexibility and mobility of joints improves significantly.

Secondly, the benefits besides flow to our respiratory system, due to the fact that we increase lung capacity. This reduces the hazard of heart attack, stroke, or diabetes. Swimming besides relieves advanced blood pressure.

Not to mention relaxation, which is due to regular breathing and the secretion of endorphins. Aha, yet the “esthetic” considerations: swimming belongs to those forms of motion during which fat tissue burns quickly. And in my opinion, painless.

However, if the swimming pool is an insurmountable obstacle due to the inability to swim and overpower fear, it may be worth considering at least aqua aerobics. Water will make it easier to execute exercises that may prove impossible for any of us to do in the room.

Hathajoga or asan practice

Commonly called yoga, but in fact the practice of asan is only part of yoga, which is the full of a philosophical system. At this point I would like to focus on the applicable part, namely the performance of asan (defined body positions), pranajamie (breathing practice) and possibly meditation.

Hathajoga, compared to the above mentioned activities, is no longer so "collised". While it is hard for me to imagine the side effects of walking or swimming (or I do not offer anyone a walk on the road and I uncertainty that the rescuers at the pools will let anyone to drown), it is already incorrect to execute the position. Therefore, the first classes would be better done with a professional instructor, besides remembering that, despite the many benefits of the practice, any positions are not recommended with any spine defects.

Despite possible limitations, it is worth considering the hathajoga and its beneficial influence on the body and mind. The most crucial effects of regular practice are: removing bone, joint or head pains; regeneration of tense strategy and cardiovascular system; expanding the scope of joint mobility and expanding the performance of muscles and tendons; oxygenation and cleansing of the body from toxins; reducing stress and improving well-being; accelerating metabolism and firming of the skin, as well as improving heart function. In short, we affect almost all the systems and organs in our body.

It may turn out that the applicable side will appeal to us so much that we will be curious in another aspects of yoga, understood even by any as “the art of life”, or “the learning of insightful techniques, through which we can get free of the illusional veil standing between us and the vital force of life.”

Donna Farhi adds that “we practice nothing more than the art of becoming human” and in order to learn this, we request to ask ourselves, “Do I truly contribute to the creation of the planet in which I want to live?”

By the way, this kind of question would be worth asking ourselves all erstwhile in a while anyway, whether we are curious in yoga as a philosophy, hathajoga as a athletics or not at all...

I described these 3 activities due to the fact that I like them, but I remember that “for everyone something nice, for everyone's paradise, live as you please, and give life to othersIt’s okay. ” So if you like cycling, nordic walking, climbing, running, gymnasium, dancing (even if only in 4 walls touring your favourite music!) or any another activity – do it. 1 athletics or another will surely benefit our body, but besides the tired psyche will not leave itself.

But let us not forget about another food for the soul, which is culture...

Soul food – literature and theatre

My favourite Portuguese poet, Fernando Pessoa, said that “literature is the most pleasant way to ignore life.” It's hard to disagree: Books let you to escape for a while from the grey reality and decision into another world, aid make our imagination, creativity. It may even give relief to the nerves.

However, I will not urge circumstantial readings: for each of its preferred species, the author. Of course, I would be delighted with the language and fresh worlds of my beloved Polish writer, Wiesław Szywski (whom, if it were up to me, would be awarded the Nobel Prize), but possibly someday, in another text... For now, there is nothing more to encourage reading and, if possible, outdoors.

However, I dare to urge something someway related to literature – theatrical arts, frequently based on the classics of literature. As the Weekly of civilian Affairs comes like me, from Łódź, I will urge the Łódź theatre. So let not readers from another cities feel left out – but as it announces billboard in the city entrance, Łódź is the most jammed and hollow, it is by the way the most climatic and worth to come here. Just to the theatre – I will subjectively urge the Theatre to them. Stefan Jaracz (I would like to say that for this “advertisement” I do not derive any financial benefits, I urge by my own free will).

How said Ireneus Czop (a large longtime actor of the theatre), “serial is simply a fast, good dish bought on the street. The theatre is simply a dinner for a peculiar person, prepared especially for you.” So alternatively of resting in front of TV/ laptop and series, possibly it's worth a look at the theatre, at an intellectual feast prepared by excellent artists? In this period my favourite actors are definitely Agnieszka Skrzypczak and Marek Nędza, so it should not be amazing that most of the recommended plays will be with them in the lead roles. How to be subjective is all about it. But for the record, the full crew of Jaracz Theatre is excellent.

On the first fire art based on drama by Magdalena Drab directed by Rafał Sabara – "WeakIt’s okay. ” It is simply a grotesque and at the same time very prosaic tale of differentness, inconsistency to the “standards” designated by society. All the stories presented in it are trivial, but “pronounced with a large amount of irony and tenderness.” In short – if we are looking for something ambitious, but at the same time not besides overwhelming – this play will be the perfect choice.

If, in turn, we are more focused on links to literature, we can go to “Letters on (not)exhausted paper“ in the adaptation and directing of Sławomir Narloch, and based on correspondence of 2 in love artists – Agnieszka Osiecka and Jeremy Przybora. "From the tumultuous relation of poets emerges a universal communicative of love". In addition, we will hear "unforgettable Osiecka songs and Apparitions in amazing arrangements".

Following a musical lead, 1 cannot neglect to mention 1 of the most beautiful productions – “Dying of longing. The most beautiful judaic songs" directed by Waldemar Zawodinski, under the musical direction of Teresa Stokowska-Gajda. We will find ourselves in a planet of beautiful songs with smart, upbuilding lyrics and wonderful vocal possibilities of actors. I have already been in this performance respective times – a wonderful spectacle that never gets bored, where on the encore the audience almost dances singing “a minute of beauty is beautiful while it lasts! ... Life, life, beautiful life, forever!”

In our current repertoire we will besides find a large play, entitled “Remembrance of Water” directed by Bogdan Tosha, as well as a bit of classics: “Glass Menageria” (Tennessee Williams) directed by Paweł Pacześ (in which I have not yet been, but remembering another performance based on this author, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” directed by Małgorzata Bogajewski – I am certain it will be worth it) and “Dreads” directed by Adam Stoka. This play in Jaracz besides before me, but knowing the amazing possibilities of actors – I am certain that I will come out spiritually satisfied with it. This is what is best in this theatre – even if the subject of the play, speaking colloquially "will not approach", we find it besides heavy, that besides much of this catharsis for the evening after work – it will absolutely always stay a delight over acting.

Despite the apparent "Jaracz preference", another theatres besides wink at me and encourage you to look at them. specified an example is Kamila Maćkowiak Theatre (a large actor) or K. Dejmek's fresh Theatre. At the time of writing this article, I was delighted “Idiot.“ directed by Waldemar Zawodinski (with the already mentioned Kamil Maćkowiak and Agnieszka Skrzypczak in the lead roles). After this performance, it's good to ask ourselves what must happen so that we start reasoning really...

In turn, in Nowy I experienced a real catharsis a fewer years ago on the play “Cobra” or rather recently, I found many contemporary problems in the play “1968 // run, baby, run” where much was mentioned about freedom and how fragile it is and how easy it is to lose. How do we deal with “the burden of political and social turmoil, against which the individual frequently remains helpless”?...

Some say art should stimulate thinking, stimulate reflection, others see art more as a form of entertainment. Fortunately, it is not impossible to combine these 2 functions. We have quite a few possibilities for choosing a favourite place of culture. It's just worth remembering in the regular race.

And finally...

Finally, I want all the weather of the spirit, which in a healthier body will surely be healthier. And besides, kindness to another man, empathy, common respect. little complaining and more action. Seeing what is good (of course not by force, "coaching", is simply about not just looking for what is bad). Facing the fears and anxiety of everyday life. Let's not get dominated by negative emotions. Let's choose the bright side of the power.

I'll leave with Tadeusz Różewicz (i will, however, smuggle any poetry):

Dear Man-eaters
Don't look at the wolf
per person
who asks for a free seat
in the railway compartment

Understand
Other people do, too.
two legs and a seat

dear human eaters
Wait a minute.
Don't step on the weak
Don't grind your teeth

Understand
There's quite a few people out there.
more so decision a small bit
Stand down.
dear human eaters
Don't buy them all
lace and noodle candles
Don't say backwards:
I'm mine.
My tummy my hair
My print my pants
My wife my children
my opinion

Dear Man-eaters
Let's not eat well
Because we won't be resurrected
Really?
