The words of Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the visit of president Karol Nawrocki to Hungary are "an example of a manipulative government policy directed against the President," said president Rafał Leśkiewicz today. As he added, president Karol Nawrocki repeatedly stressed that he did not agree with many Hungarian decisions.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday before the government gathering that the Monday visit of president Karol Nawrocki to Hungary was against the recommendations and opinions of the Polish government. He assessed that the gathering of the Polish president with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban before the parliamentary elections in this country was against Polish interests. Tusk stressed that it is not in Poland's interest to support Orban in his pro-Russian and anti-European activities. He besides addressed president Karol Nawrocki with the words: "You are the president of Poland and you have Polish duties, not Russian ones."

The President's spokesperson addressed the words of the head of government today. He pointed out that president Karol Nawrocki participated on Monday in the celebration of the Polish-Hungarian relationship Days, which have been organized for 19 years. In Budapest – as he pointed out – president Karol Nawrocki met again with Hungarian president Tamas Sulyok and later with Viktor Orban, who, as Leśkiewicz stressed, "is the Prime Minister elected in democratic elections by Hungarian citizens".

– Hungary is simply a associate of the European Union, a associate of NATO. Poland and Hungary are the east flank of the North Atlantic Alliance. We cooperate with the Visegrad Group, the Trimorese Initiative or the Bucharest Nine. We are conducting an economical exchange, which reaches respective billion euros a year – said Rafał Leśkiewicz.

He assured that KPRP had been in contact with the Ministry of abroad Affairs regarding the planned celebrations, and until Sunday evening the ministry was to represent Deputy Minister of abroad Affairs Henryk Mościcka-Dendys.

– At the last minute, her participation was cancelled," said the President's spokesman.

According to him, the president stressed on respective occasions and it besides sounded during the Monday press conference that he disagreed with many decisions by Hungary, peculiarly as regards the attitude towards Russia Vladimir Putin or the issue of supporting Ukraine. As he pointed out, president Karol Nawrocki considers Putin to be a criminal liable for Ukraine's aggression and the death of thousands of citizens of this country.

– Prime Minister Donald Tusk's words are also example of the government's manipulative policy against the President. Donald Tusk is the most pro-Russian Prime Minister of Poland after 1989, who led a consistent reset policy with Russia – said Rafał Leśkiewicz.

In his opinion, the Prime Minister's message is an effort to save the disastrous – in the opinion of the President's spokesperson – the government's quotations and a distraction from the "bad" economical situation in the country or the problems of the Polish wellness service.

"The attacks on the president are an inept effort to divert public attention from mediocre government policy," concluded the President's spokesman.

He besides argued that it was not the president, and Prime Minister Tusk was active in the electoral process in Hungary, "clearly supporting opposition candidate Tisz Peter Magyar".
