Parliamentary elections in Kosovo. The Prime Minister's destiny is at stake

120 Members of Parliament 10 seats are reserved for the Serbian minorityand another 10 — for another national minorities surviving in Kosovo.

There are 28 candidates — parties, coalitions and 1 independent candidate — from which 14 have candidates representing non-Albanian and Serbian communities.

According to the Central Election Commission of Kosovo there are 1 million 970 1000 944 people authorised to vote. Nearly 105,000 citizens registered abroad. Election venues in 16 Kosovo embassies and 14 consulates opened on Saturday. any diaspora voters chose to vote by correspondence.

Entry to parliament guarantees political parties exceeding the 5% vote threshold. Since its declaration of independency in 2008, Kosovo — was a confederate state of Serbia — had six governments and 5 prime ministers. The cabinet of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his Self-Determination is the first to last until the end of the four-year term. besides in the 2025 election, Kurti leads his party, seeking re-election as head of government.

Self-determination won 50.28 percent of the vote in 2021. Pre-election polls now give him first place, however, most of them do not receive 50% support. The premier party's most crucial rivals are the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Democratic organization of Kosovo (PDK) which, according to most polls, can scope 20% of support.
