Ladies and gentlemen,
We would like to inform you that the Military Gendarmery has not received any orders regarding the "fight against civilian patrols" on the western border. Joint patrol activities of the Military Police and Border defender service only to aid defend the state border and prevent illegal immigrants from crossing the border.
The Border defender remains the service liable for the protection of the state border, including all activities concerning transport, relocation and subsequent treatment of immigrants.
At the same time, we emphasize that the Military Gendarmery, in accordance with the laws in force, performs its statutory tasks throughout the country, including in its western part as part of the current safety of infrastructure and military units.
It should be stressed that soldiers of the Polish Army, including the Military Gendarmery, carry out tasks in the east of the country, supporting the Border defender as part of Operation Safe Podlasie.
