The European Commission officially confirmed receipt of a letter from president Karol Nawrocki on migration policy. In consequence to the position of Poland, the EC stressed the peculiar situation of the country, which accepts a large number of Ukrainian refugees.
President Nawrocki wrote in a letter to the EC president that Poland would not agree to the actions of European institutions that would aim to deploy illegal migrants on its territory. He hoped that the president of the Commission would take this into account.

"Poland faces a peculiar situation at its borders, where migration is utilized as a weapon, and the Commission full supports Poland, both politically and through additional financial support for border protection" - commented the EC representative. The Commission besides confirmed receipt of presidential proposals.
The EC recognised the migration challenges facing Poland on the east border. Brussels pointed to the instrumental usage of migration by external actors as a threat to the safety of EU borders.
