K. Stefanowska: we have forgotten what it means to be a patriot

patriotismmodern patriotismWhat it means to be a patriot todayWhy Be a Patriot

We have forgotten so much that erstwhile individual tries to remind us, we respond with anger and outrage.

The discussion of modern patriotism took place in our modern times. Voting, paying taxes, segregating garbage... Sometimes on this list there will be a cognition of history, of its roots, sometimes of Polish pride. But how to express this pride of Polishness today? How can we express our attachment to our history?
In the nation there is definitely inactive a request to express patriotism, the request to feel, experience and experience it. Therefore, various social engineers effort to enter into this request and usage it for their purposes, which unfortunately are not in depth Polish.
An example of this is the PiS march organized on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the coronation of Bolesław Chrobry and 500th anniversary of the Prussian tribute. The facade looked beautiful, crowds with white and red flags, lofty feelings, people in historical costumes dancing polonaza, don't compose down modern patriotism. But why do I say it's just a facade? There are a fewer reasons.
The PiS declares itself as a organization not only patriotic, but besides Catholic. Meanwhile, it organized a dance event (or what else was the solemn dancing of the polonaza to music in beautiful, specially prepared outfits for this occasion?) on the eve of Palm Sunday, that is, at the tallness of Lent, erstwhile it is not allowed to organize large music. And the anniversary of Bolesław's coronation was April 18th, on Good Friday, and so the gathering could be held both a week before it (which was done) and a week after it, as early as the vacation - Easter period, which would have been a better option, but it was not decided. Once.
Secondly, the 500th anniversary of the Prussian tribute was besides included in the celebration. Again - seemingly this is simply a large event, the German kneeled before Poles, the Prussian prince swore obedience to the Polish king. But if you take a closer look, you can see that there was a real chance of defeating the Teutonic State completely and integrating these lands into Poland, simply as part of our country, for which most of the society of the time was favoured. However, we gave up this, in return leading to the emergence of the world's first (sic!) heretic, due to the Protestant state. At a time erstwhile the king's coronation was a spiritual act, and the king's authority came from God was a large event that was hard to number as affirmative events. And what the fruits of leaving the Prussians free have already told us the 18th century, especially its second half and ending.
Thirdly, the 1000th anniversary of the coronation of the first king of Poland is an anniversary so monumental that it is actually hard to imagine. A 1000 years! How much has the planet changed through this time, how much have we been through as a Polish nation? How many saints and how many bastards have we spent, how many Polish blood have been transfused, how many tears have sunk into the ground on the Vistula River? You can ask, number and summarize so endlessly, you can compose treatises, books, sing songs... meanwhile, what does the organization that wants to call itself the voice of Polish patriots propose for this occasion? He's offering us a march. March, average march, you take the flag and walk from point A to point B as it goes all year the March of independency as it goes the march of support of Kaczyński, the march of support of Tusk, the march of millions of hearts, the march of life and family, the march of Mrs Joanna, the march of gays, lesbians and trances, the march of abortionists and abortionists, just march, take the flag and walk. A 1000 years! You take the flag and go from point A to point B.
It was no secret to anyone that this anniversary was coming this year. This was known much, much earlier, besides erstwhile the PiS was in power. There was time to plan a triumphal arch, a Chrobry monument or a monument of the Polish kingdom named however, however, associated with this occasion, of gold or of bronze, monumental, sublime, full of dignity and pride, which will stand there possibly another 1000 years, with today's technology why not. Like present stands in Matejka Square in Krakow, the large monument of Władysław Jagiełła, placed there on the occasion of the 500-year-old conflict of Grunwald. There may have been a monument, a museum, a fresh song, a triumphal arch, or at least a bridge of the millennium of the Polish Crown in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznań or Gniezno. Ideas would have been found if there was a will for it. However, PiS did not plan NIC, as did the large NIC we received from them on the 100th anniversary of regaining independency in 2018. In the millennium of the Polish Crown, we only received a march organized to miss, the corrupting Catholics.
However, I was to compose about what patriotism is, not whether it is. However, there would not be this column if I were born with specified knowledge, if I just had it and did not gotta discover it only by watching people slow wake up. I had to wake up, too, and that's the saddest thing about it all, that people who have good intentions and honest hearts are manipulated so profoundly that they will defend it with stubbornness worthy of a better cause.
The easiest way is to specify patriotism in opposition to something in a situation where it is attacked. 1 specified situation was what happened over a year ago in the Polish parliament, erstwhile Grzegorz Braun put out the Khanuk candlestick. Of course, Mainstream reacted with holy outrage and theatrically tore the robes, here no surprise, but what did Polish superficial patriots do? They reacted the same way. due to the fact that freedom of religion, due to the fact that respect for another religions, due to the fact that what will they say about us and what will they think about us and shame at all? This was a customized behavior, due to the fact that fire extinguisher powder and a crowd of bleached people do not fit in terms of the knowing of reality by most of us. Many of us most likely never had a fire extinguisher in their hands, didn't know how to usage it, what it looked like after spraying the powder... Non-standard behavior, therefore, besides corrosive, and yes.
In the meantime, that's right. What was that about Gregory Braun? This Khanukka was held in the Polish Seyma, an institution that governs our country, and what the authorities of our country are doing is influencing it all. It's not the same if you and I stand by the Khanukiji. The same motion in the ruling has a very different dimension than in the grey citizen, has a broader, deeper dimension, is made in the name of the nation, not only on its own behalf. And our nation is Catholic, and its queen is God-parent Virgin Mary. And we must not forget this, we must not bow to abroad gods (what modern Judaism is, it is written enough, so I will not unnecessarily prolong this text).
Yes, Grzegorz Braun paid for this act - and respective akin ones - his price. Medial lynching, criticism, disenfranchising, most likely in the close future, and depriving of immunity, and then prosecutorial charges. But that doesn't halt him. due to the fact that you gotta perceive to God more than people, and Poland is Catholic. And while any synagogues are most likely and most likely function for the grey citizens in Poland and nobody harms them, so in the Polish Seym there cannot be a place for abroad gods due to the fact that we are at home and here there are our rules, not abroad rules.
The next example is an event a fewer days ago, namely a photograph of the Ukrainian flag from the city office in Biała Podlaska. At the rally, people asked for the aid of Grzegorz Braun, and he gladly agreed, helped to remove the flag and spread over the event his immunity as a associate of the European Parliament. In the media, there's outrage, there's anti-Ukrainian charges again, and there's no telling what else. Meanwhile, do any of you, Readers, the country that hangs Polish flags at its offices? I am not talking about diplomatic institutions of Poland or private homes, but state institutions. Was the Polish flag put up somewhere in Ukraine, in gratitude? Or Germany? How about France? Uruguay? Who hangs abroad flags in offices?
Which means placing the flag of a nation somewhere was presented beautifully late by Karol Nawrocki, provoked by Rafał Trzaskowski. So, following this description, it should be considered that the Ukrainians have won the office of the city in Biała Podlaska, and it is simply a city for Polish and Ukrainian fields. Is that so? Did the full country agree to this, to give our city back to its east neighbors? And if not, what's that flag that's been hanging there since 2022? For so long, it didn't bother anyone until Grzegorz Braun came and made us aware of it, for which he would most likely get in problem again. But patriotism must cost money.
And no, it was not an anti-Ukrainian event, as Grzegorz Braun present passed the Ukrainian flag to the Ukrainian embassy in accordance with the announcement taken from the Polish city office. Not only was she not burned or destroyed, but she was not even abandoned, she was shown due respect by showing her appropriate place.
There will most likely be ideas and explanations that there is simply a war, that Ukraine fights, that they request to be helped. Agreed, but everything has its limits. If individual has a friend who abruptly has no roof over his head, he'll most likely take him home for a while and that's commendable. He'll take and borrow the bed, possibly clothes, a pot of food. But if he wanted to borrow his wife/husband as a companion at night, it would be wickedness and confusion. So we - as a Polish nation - must not aid others to fuck wickedly.
The next event is simply a plaque on the grave of the UPA murderers in the Monasterz, which was replaced by local patriots on a monument aptly describing historical truth. Pressed by local authorities, they requested aid from... Where are the others? Where is the CEO of IPN who gets paid for taking care of Polish memory? Due to the letter of law, the plaque has been changed illegally, as it will likely be possible to find a paragraph on the photograph of the Ukrainian flag in Biała Podlaska. The question, however, is whether we care about Poland or the law, constituted by people who, as we must say, do not have Polish hearts?
One of our national problems is simply a very low sense of self-esteem, both as people and as a full - as a nation. That's what makes us afraid - to break the incorrect law, to do something that individual doesn't like, to stand up for themselves, due to the fact that what individual thinks about us or don't let God hurt someone. specified conduct reshapes our hearts and souls, and these deeper into marazm, which makes it even harder for us to wake up to act.
However, we will not regain independency - and it would be worthy of commemorating the millennium of the Polish Crown - if we do not break this vicious circle. How many of us have the courage and the will to hang only white and red in the heart, beside the cross?
