Prime Minister Donald Tusk after finishing the European leaders' meetings with Donald Trump revealed more details during the press conference. He informed that during 1 of these meetings Poland was represented by president Karol Nawrocki.
– I know that this raises interest and emotion – he said, but at the same time he mentioned that "the government managed to establish a common position on this issue" and it was handed over to the President.
And he added, "I'm certain we'll work together. I proposed to the President's office that even if we could meet next day and summarize what is happening on the Ukrainian front and in negotiations with another countries."
Details of Nawrocki and Tusk meetings
Shortly after the Prime Minister's proposal, the spokesperson for the president of Poland issued an urgent message. "At the request of Donald Tusk next day at 12 noon, the president of Poland Karol Nawrocki will meet the Prime Minister at the Presidential Palace," Rafal Leśkiewicz informed through platform X.
Government spokesperson Adam Szpieczka besides spoke: "Tomorrow at 12.00 p.m. Donald Tusk will meet with the president of Poland Karol Nawrocki".
– In all case, where the interest of Poland is, I will cooperate with president Nawrocki. Regardless of what I think of his views, any actions. I was critical and I will not change my mind, but I know what is the work of the president as Prime Minister (...) president Nawrocki has to accept the fact that I am Prime Minister, I have accepted that he is President,” said the Prime Minister during the press conference.
