
In Poland the long weekend has ended, in China the next period of respective overtime days will come along with the Chinese fresh Year, which will last full-time from 17 February to 3 March 2026, and employees of companies will benefit from the “window from 14 February (Saturday) to 22 February (Sunday). Meanwhile, “show must go on”: China does not slow down in any dimension.
Below are any crucial events that have, have, or will take place in this shorter week of work for Poles. And that's just a small stunt for this week's events. We will present any of the remainder in the next edition of our review “Week Behind the large Wall”
November 10: USA and China suspend additional duties
The United States and China have announced an agreement on common suspension of additional trade duties. The USA extended the validity of the work exemptions from Section 301 and reduced the rates for fentanyl-related products. China in turn suspended for a year a 24-percent work on any American goods (including soya, wine), maintaining a reduced 10% rate. The decisions are temporary and are treated as a step towards stabilising economical relations.
10–13 November: King Philip VI of Spain at a state visit to China
King Philip VI began his first state visit to China since 2014. He met with president Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang in Beijing. The topics of the talks are cooperation in the renewable energy sector, Chinese investment in Spain and Europe's function in relations with China. A memorandum on technological cooperation and tourism was planned.
10-11 November: Norwegian abroad Minister Espen Barth Eide in Beijing
Minister Eide held talks with Wang Yi on Arctic cooperation, CO2 control and joint green technology projects. The visit is the first at ministerial level since the re-election of the Norwegian government in September 2025. The desire to rebuild dialog after a period of tension caused by human rights issues has been highlighted.
10 November: China launches visa-free entry for Swedish citizens
From 10 November 2025 to 31 December 2026, Swedish citizens may enter China without a visa for tourism, business or transit purposes (up to 15 days). This policy has besides been extended to France, Italy, Finland and Malaysia. The aim is to revive global tourism and deepen cultural exchange.
November 11th: The buying festival reaches its peak
"Double 11" – the largest digital sales festival in the People's Republic of China – reached its climax on 11 November. Platforms specified as Alibaba (Tmall), JD.com and Pinduoduo have been promoting since the beginning of November to fuel request in conditions of reduced consumer activity. Final sales data will be published in the coming days. AI dominance is observed in personalization of offers and commercial livestreaming.
13–17 November: King of Thailand Vajiralongkorn visits China
A historical state visit by King Vajiralongkorn of Thailand is planned – the first of its kind since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975. The king will meet Xi Jinping and Li Qiang. Infrastructure agreements (especially the Trans-Conghan railway), tourism and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative are expected. The visit is symbolic for regional diplomacy.
November 13: Baidu will present fresh AI solutions during “Baidu planet 2025”
Baidu Inc. will hold a “Baidu planet 2025” conference on 13 November in Beijing under the heading “AI in Action”. Presentations of the latest generation of ERNIE model, AI applications in medicine and transport, as well as fresh educational tools supported by artificial intelligence, are planned. The live broadcast will be made available through authoritative company channels.
