June 20th is simply a vacation too. shortly this date may mean a day off from work

This year, God’s Body fell on June 19. It turns out that a day later, on Friday 20 June, we besides have a holiday, but this time a state vacation and established just 3 years ago. The Solemnity of the Blessed Body and Blood of Christ, commonly known as God's Body, is simply a mobile vacation celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church, but always happens on Thursday after the Holy Trinity, or 60 days after Easter. He's sometimes legally free.

June 20: What vacation are we celebrating?

This year it happened that on Friday after God's Body the feast besides happened, and it was rather new, due to the fact that in 2022 the Sejm at the request of the president established on 20 June the National Day of the Silesian Uprisings.

As stated, "National Day of Silesian Uprisings is celebrated on the anniversary of the entry into advanced Silesia of Polish troops headed by General Stanislaw Szeptycki. Shortly after this event, in July 1922, the celebration of the unification of advanced Silesia with Poland was held in Katowice through the symbolic link between Silesian land and the Republic of Poland".

New days off. A petition has arrived

This day, Friday after God's Body, in which in 2025 the feast besides fell, may be free from work. The petition was received in the Chancellery of the president of Poland.

The authors asked the president to set up six fresh public holidays. These are:

Great Thursday,

Good Friday,

2 May ( Flag Day of the Republic of Poland),

Friday after God's Body,

2 November (Soul Day),

December 31 (Sylwester).


They argue, among another things, that "in public transport usually: 2 May, 31 December, Friday after God's Body as a regular day between 2 days off e.g. (holy, Saturday, Sunday) applies Saturday schedules".
