Julia Przyłębska resigned in order to influence the selection of her successor. Although her authority to convene the gathering as the president of the Constitutional Tribunal could be questioned, it cannot be disputed that she has the right to do so by virtue of being the justice with the longest service in the Constitutional Tribunal – explains Stanisław Biernat, a retired justice of the Constitutional Tribunal and erstwhile vice-president of the Tribunal.
