Israeli authorities plan to approve construction of 2749 fresh buildings on the occupied West Bank in six weeks. The information was provided by Peace Now, which monitors illegal judaic settlement activities.
Jewish Nazis grow the lebensraum on the occupied West Bank. ‘If the plans of this week are approved, this will mean that 2749 housing units will be built within a period and a half.” – wrote Peace Now in her statement. She besides noted that at the current rate, in 2025 a evidence number of settlement units could be created in the West Bank, amounting to an average of 1,800 buildings per month.
According to Peace Now, the Higher Planning Council (HPC) of the Israeli civilian Administration is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to approve the construction of 372 housing units in the Beitar Illit settlement south of Jerusalem.
"This gathering is part of a fresh trend in weekly sessions to advance settlement plans, while no akin discussions are held on the approval of Palestinian construction in region C" – informed the organization.
Zone C, any 60 percent of the occupied West Bank, is under the complete control of Israel.
Let us recall: the 1995 Oslo Agreements divided the occupied West Bank into 3 areas: Area A under full control of Palestine, Area B under Israeli safety control, and Palestinian civilian and administrative control, and Area C under full Israeli civil, administrative and safety control.
Since taking office by current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in late 2022, a evidence number of housing settlements have been approved in the West Bank. In 2023 HPC approved 12,349 housing units, and in 2024 – 9884.
The global community, including the UN, considers Israeli settlements illegal under global law. The UN has repeatedly warned that further expansion of settlements threatens the feasibility of a two-state solution, a framework seen as crucial to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In July 2024, the global Court of Justice concluded that Israel's decades-long business of Palestinian lands is illegal and requested evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem.
The settlement action is accompanied by violent repression, pogroms of the local population and demolition of its property. Only in fresh days, Jews destroyed hundreds of young olive trees in the city of Nahalin, west of occupied Bethlehem.
Hussein Shakarneh discovered that settlers had cut 200 young olive trees on his own land. Local sources say this is the consequence of the fact that a group of settlers late established a shepherding facility in the Ain Faris area. She placed 2 large sheds there for livestock farming. These actions are intended to deprive Palestinians of their land, through consistent attacks and demolition of crops.
The Wall and Settlement authorities reported that the settlers killed 10 Palestinians last year and caused 373 fires on property and fields in the provinces of Nablus, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Janin and Tulkarm, tearing and damaging a full of 14 212 trees, including 10,459 olive trees.
At the top of the list of provinces with the largest number of damaged trees was Hebron, where 3980 trees suffered. The next place was Bethlehem with 3791 damaged and torn trees, and on the 3rd nablus with 2737 trees.
