The court decided to extend the detention for the stepfather and parent of eight-year-old Kamilka from Częstochowa, whose death shook Poland. The couple will not be able to leave the prison until at least November 23.
"The Court of Appeal took into account the request of the territory Court of Czestochowa. The temporary arrest was maintained and extended until 23 November" – we read in the announcement of the court quoted by PAP.
Eight-year-old Kamil died in May 2023 in a infirmary due to injuries resulting from abuse.
The father of the boy David B. is accused of killing in the conditions of recidivism with peculiar cruelty and as a consequence of motivation worthy of peculiar condemnation. In addition, he is charged with physical and intellectual abuse of peculiar cruelty over Kamil and another child, as well as sexual harassment.
Kamil Magdalena B.'s parent is accused of assisting with execution and abuse.
Some 60 witnesses were interviewed during the investigation and respective expert opinions were collected. Both defendants were declared sane.
