The last Hamas attack was a shock to Israel. 1,300 Israelis were killed and more than 100 were abducted to the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Netanjahu announced an unparalleled retaliation, which – here quoted – “will be remembered by successive generations.” The Israeli army is presently focusing on bombing the Gaza Strip. It's an introduction to the land offensive to begin in the coming days. Meanwhile, Iran, which is simply a close ally of Hamas, mobilizes all its regional militias – from Lebanon to Iraq to Yemen. There are concerns that Hezbollah can open a second front by attacking Israel in the north. In response, the Americans send 2 aircraft carriers to the region, trying to scare Iran distant from the escalation. But is that adequate to avoid a regional confrontation with Iran?
