The Israeli government allowed the army to service up to 400,000 reservists in connection with ongoing conflicts with Iran and supported by Tehran Shiite Hezbollah," reported the Times of Israel portal.
The military has declared that 400,000 are not the actual number of reservists to be called. However, it is “a ceiling providing flexibility [...] according to operational needs”, the army informed.
The erstwhile limit, approved in December, was 280 1000 – reminded the portal.
The mandate of Israel's Defence Forces to mobilize reservists on the basis of an order to immediately appoint to the military is from the Palestinian terrorist attack of Hamas in 2023 submitted to the government for approval all fewer months.
During a period of peace, erstwhile there are no crisis situations, the Israeli army can only mobilize the reservists for a limited time and long in advance," the portal stressed.
