The Israeli parliament passed on Monday the law establishing the death punishment as a default punishment for the Palestinians of the West Bank, convicted by a military court for terrorism. Importantly, these provisions do not apply to Israeli citizens convicted under the same paragraph. This step by the Israeli authorities has been widely criticised by the global community, but not by the US.
