Iran defence Council warned on Monday that the full Persian Gulf would be mined in the event of an American landing on the Iranian coast or island.
US president Donald Trump threatened to take action on Saturday if the Ormuz Strait, blocked by Iran from the first days of the war, was not opened within 48 hours.
"Any effort to attack the enemy on the Iranian coast or islands ... will lead to the miner of all the routes in the Persian Gulf and along the coast," says a message by the Council of defence of Iran, which coordinates strategical military decisions.
The United States is trying to reopen the Ormuz Strait for energy supplies. 1 5th of planet oil, liquefied gas and another natural materials were transported by the Strait. Currently, fewer ships flow through the Strait, although Iran claims it remains open, but not to the US, Israel and their allies.
