Iran responds to Trump ultimatum. Millions will die of thirst?

Tehran warned that in the event of an American attack on Iranian energy, infrastructure in the region – including water desalination installations – could become a mark for retaliation.

The demolition of these facilities could have disastrous consequences – in the Gulf States, desalination stations account for about 70% of drinking water. Their demolition would mean cutting off up to 100 million people. In any countries, specified as Qatar or Kuwait, desalination technology covers almost all of the population's needs.

Tension increased after the 48-hour ultimatum that US president Donald Trump issued, threatening to destruct Iranian power plants. On his community portal fact Social Trump wrote that if Tehran does not immediately open the Ormuz Strait, the US will mark Iranian power plants starting with the largest one. He gave the government 48 hours to unlock average shipping through the Strait.
