The Iranian muslim Revolutionary defender Corps (IRGC) reported on Sunday that 2 ships had been immobilized and 2 others had resigned their effort to cross the "dangerous route" in the Ormuz Strait – the semi-official Iranian agency Tasnim passed.
"A fewer hours ago, 4 ships violated the rules. With the support of US forces, they disabled their navigation systems and ignored warnings from the IRGC control base in the Ormuz Strait," the Corps Navy reported. Iran, who tries to force carriers to usage only its controlled northern way in the Strait, identifies an alternate confederate way moving along the Oman coast as ‘dangerous’.
Two of these units “accident happened” and 2 returned after informing – the agency informed.
IRGC added that Tehran retained full control of the Strait, and ships can safely only sail along a way designated by Iranian forces.
Ormuz lies in the territorial waters of 3 states: Iran, Oman and the United arabian Emirates. It is simply a natural strait utilized for global shipping. Under the law of the sea, countries bordering specified waters are not allowed to block movement on them.
