The first of the Virtuti Military Order published on the Ukrainian net portal is in the hands of the household – the IPN reported today. He added that the copy from the auction could be a forgery and a fraud attempt.
A spokesperson for the Institute of National Memory Dr. Rafał Kościński told PAP that present a typical of the victim's family, who assured that she was in possession of the first order. ‘The copy offered may so be a secondary or a forgery, an effort at fraud. The memory of victims cannot be traded, even if it concerns copies or counterfeits," Kościński stressed. He announced that the aforementioned fact would be informed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of abroad Affairs of Poland. Polish representatives of state authorities will besides be provided with data on the individual issuing the facility for sale.
The Institute of National Memory on Tuesday protested "against another manifestation of trade in Polish memory" – in this way he referred to information about the effort to sale the Virtuti Military War Order on the Ukrainian Internet. The number on it allowed to find that he belonged to Captain Julius Heinzel, a prisoner of the Starobielsk camp murdered by the Soviets in 1940 in Kharkiv.
