Innovation versus concrete. Minister Fedrow fights for survival

Mikhail Fedov, who in January 2026 assumed the portfolio of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, attempted a extremist transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (SHU). He succeeded, but he put himself at hazard for “old” generals, reducing their influence and cutting corruption. His goal was clear: to transform an army burdened with post-Soviet bureaucracy into a modern, agile structure based on data and technological asymmetry. After respective months of implementation of deep reforms, Fiedrow was under the wave of criticism of parts of the general, headed by the Chief Commander General Alexander of Syria, and opposition of the conventional military apparatus. There's a spectre of resignation hanging over Fedorov.
