The evidence number of Romanian citizens surviving in the Republic of Moldova took part in the second circular of the presidential election in Romania on 18 May — 158 143. According to Infotag,Nearly 75% more than in the first circular on 4 May, erstwhile the attendance evidence was besides dropped — over 91,000 voters.

138,320 Romanian citizens in Moldova voted for an independent candidate, 88% of all votes cast (in the first circular – 52%). AUR right-radical candidate George Simion received 18,868 votes, or 12%.

The second circular of the Romanian presidential election brought the highest attendance in 35 years. The vote was attended by 11.6 million Romanian citizens, which accounted for nearly 65% of the full voters. Over 1.6 million people voted at polling stations abroad, including Moldova, where 64 voting points were opened.

After calculating 100% of the votes cast both at home and abroad, Nicușor Dan gained 53.60% of the vote and George Simion — 46.40%.

Nicușor Dan thanked president Mai Sandu and Romanian citizens surviving in the Republic of Moldova for their support.
