The memory of Bohdan Poręba.

Tomorrow's a large anniversary. 91 years ago my friend Bogdan Poręba was born. Most Polish of Polish directors.
A birthday to be in your beloved Vilnius. In the household of the Legion officer, the Polish Army and the AK, and the parent of the teacher. Sam wrote he was 5 erstwhile the war broke out. Vilnius was a front city, which repeatedly passed from russian hands to German and vice versa. During the fighting, the parent protected herself in her uncle's estate, in the municipality, which was an AK base. There he listened to guerrilla songs, met legendary characters. He remembers the liberation of the city by the AK soldiers, then their several-day fraternization with the Red Army, completed with catorgy exports. In May 1945 he was repatriated with his household to Poland. Through the windows of the cattle wagon that carried him from his beloved Vilnius, he saw the end of the war. By 1949, he was the last squad member 5 Bydgoszcz Scout Teams. His farewell to the Scouts was organized by the Hufiec – the secret march of 3 May.
In 1951, after his graduation, he became a student of the faculty of directing at the State Higher movie School in Łódź. The manager was an outstanding ‘The appeal of the fallen’, ‘Lunatics’, ‘The road to the West’, ‘The distance is expensive’, ‘The actual to the eyes’, ‘Hubal’, ‘Jarosław Dąbrowski’, ‘Where Clean Water and Green Grass’, ‘Polonia Restituta’, ‘Catastrophe in Gibraltar’ is ‘Golden train’. He was besides a maker of 86 feature films: ‘Over Niemnem’, ‘The coup’, ‘Secret Enigmy’ or ‘Gdansk 39’ He directed tv shows in this November and Secret State Prisoner“ He directed 30 tv shows in Poland and abroad “Family reunion”, “Life and Death of King John” is "A broken house".
He was a sincere and dedicated patriot, a man of the authentic national left. He wasn't a classical nationalist, although many called him that. That's his name sometimes. He appreciated Józef Piłsudski very much, in my opinion too. That's what we argued about many times. In 1 of the texts he wrote "Although I am a nationalist, and so I consider Dmowski a much deeper mind, I think that today's support for the patriotism of walsudczykowski, and so it is easier technically necessary. specified patriotism corresponds to most of our nation and we will not change it in 1 generation. This is simply a chance for mass. If we don't do this, the erstwhile PC or the PiS will. Dmowski will be needed if there is simply a political problem with Russia. For here, the tradition of a sawman has nothing to offer us but the Kiev expedition.”
From 1969 to 1990 he belonged to the PZPR and was besides a associate of the PRON. His left-wingness had nothing to do with left-wing, which he emphasized very much. In fact, he expressed this at the last PPR convention erstwhile he said: “Comrades and Companions. We're here to say goodbye. any in focus, with regret, but besides with determination, that here goes individual close to you, to whom the time has come. Others to dance joy over a fresh grave. It's weird to think that you could have been with individual so disliked to experience so much good and bad at the same time. And our deceased was a tragic figure, so complex. due to the fact that the destiny of the Polish left is complex and tragic. It was born from the conflict for independency and social justice during the period of partition. It was the stubborn fight of Polish revolutionaries that brought the Polish case to the global arena. After planet War II, under the conditions of Yalta and Potsdam, there was no alternate another than communist rule. This is the origin of the party's tragedy. In the eyes of the nation, it was an exposition of the interests of the power, charged with sin on September 17 and the Katyn crime. If I find the destiny of the party, I usage the word tragicism, then there is simply a bitter sense of pride behind it. In Poland, Stalin's monuments have never stood under the authority of this organization in line with those that prevailed over the capitals of neighbouring states. In Poland there were neither so many or so many demonstration political processes. In Poland, churches were not closed or converted into warehouses. In Poland, despite falsifications and limitations, it has always been more loose and freer in science, culture and press. In Poland the village was protected from collectivization. And this was possible thanks to the determined policy of any Polish communists. The baggage of hatred, which rests on our shoulders, derives from the fact that from 1948-1956 Stalin in sectarian circles of communists found obedient performers of his policy, utilizing them as a biological instrument to destruct the best Polish patriots of all orientations, which was symbolized by the imprisonment of both Gomulka and Cardinal Wyszynski. Today, the problem of the party, but besides of the full society, lies in the advanced efficiency of sectarians and their heirs in moving distant from occupied positions and rapidly regrouping into opposing positions. But always distant from the strategy of rations, values, professed by the Nation of Poland. I am calm about the destiny of the left in our country. Her existence will be claimed by the hungry reality. But in press releases, in any interviews, the thought of a fresh alliance appears. It is an alliance of any of our loud reformers with the alleged lay Left. I think it would be unfortunate to have an agreement between the elites of cosmopolitanism... Entering a common European home, Poland must enter the Europe of the Fatherlands. The organization entering the Socialist global must enter as a national party. Otherwise, a vassal nightmare against internationals will be repeated. Agentry, if not against abroad powers, it's abroad economical interests. And then we will be rejected as a abroad transplant by the Nation. And yet we are and want to be blood with his blood and bone with his”. This was a close position of the National Party. Let us remember the list of “To Poles and Poles – delegates for the 11th PZPR Congress” which was sent out by the reborn and signed by a prisoner of Bermenovszczyzna Adam Krajewski “We do not deny merit, especially in the improvement of Western lands, the elimination of unemployment, the massification of education and social care, the conduct of abroad policies taking into account the interest and welfare of the Polish State and the restoration of the material heritage of the Nation destroyed by planet War II (...) After the war, our organization was not allowed to engage in public activities (...) by non-Polish forces originating from the Polish safety Council, the Polish safety Council and the Zion Field. We are aware and know that Poland needs a social justice party, which you call a organization of socialism or left. We, as the National Movement, want you to form a Polish organization representing the social interests of the Polish Nation, parties independent of all external centres – all internationalists”
Many years later, col. Bohdan Poręba further emphasized his imagination of the left: “We must first reject the long - imposed strategy of the left. The anti-national, anti-religious, actually anti-human. This pseudo-community dominated by a judaic number under the cloak of beautiful slogans about justice destroyed our civilization. For Poles, the left is pro-robotism, pro-population, harmony in social life without poles of poorness and wealth. For them, breaking with tradition, history, religion. Ideological Materialism. It is interesting that he is so close to both Trotskyists and capitalists. But they're the children of 1 devil. I think that the full Polish People's Republic, which must be protected in the consciousness of Poles as limited but Polish statehood – is simply a communicative of the conflict of the concept of Polish socialism with statelessness. This Polish website is primarily Gomulko and Gierek. NOR-owcom – heirs Bieruta, Berman, Lampego – anti-national internacionists, or Trotskyists, managed to shift all Poles' objections to Stalinism to the full period of the Polish People's Republic, that is to direct an emotional society against its state. The masterpiece of the anti-Polish agentry (...) The full past of the Polish PRL is simply a communicative of the conflict of the Polish component with abroad elements. And for that, Grunwald was created to complete the work of October 56 and March 68. Our destiny and another central European countries, as colonized countries reaching the level of the 3rd world, was determined before the decision of Andropov, Gromyka, Brzeziński on behalf of Regan, to dissolve the USSR... Globalism has become much more comfortable for Trotskys than it has been towards national communism. But it is the same thing – the elimination of nations, this time by capitalism about the face of imperialism, as is illustrated by Yugoslavia or Iraq.”
He was president and ideology United Patriotic “Grunwald”. But contrary to many opinions, he was not the founder of Grunwald. Sam mentioned, “The gene called me. Stanisław Skalski, ace of Polish aviation, associate in the conflict of England. He said there was a gathering and that I should come. We met at his house. They were inactive there. Kazimierz Studentowicz, Labour organization activist, Stalin prisoner, Tadeusz Bednarczyk, historian and AK soldier, and Zdzisław Ciesiołkiewicz, president of the Berliners Association, “Grunwald has already acted in public for 2 months, I joined”. Many saw the reluctance of much of the movie community to Poręba. I am convinced that this was earlier than the "Grunwald" ZP was created, due to the fact that in 1963. Then the movie premiered ‘The distance is expensive’. The movie portrayed the life communicative of an officer of the 1st Armoured Division, commanded by General Stanisław Maczek of a unit of Polish Armed Forces in the West. In the film, among another things Jan Machulski, Christine Laszar, Henryk Bąk and Jerzy Duszyński. Music by Master Wojciech Kilar. For this film, a friend of Bohdan Poręba landed on 7 years of unemployment. Bohdan himself mentioned it in the book “Protect Polishness” "My manager of the movie squad „Camera” Jerzy Bossak, says to me: “Zoręba, you were born to make crime films.” And I already had Jack Wejroch's script. This was an adaptation of 3 stories by Ksaver Pruszyński “Zientar will”, “Between Wolves” and “In Giewałdowa” All 3 stories afraid the environment of General Maczek's armored division. On the basis of them, I made another movie “The Far is expensive”. This is the only full-length movie about the Polish army in the West. A movie about how soldiers of this large division that liberated France, the Netherlands and Belgium and after the war ended, they faced a dilemma: what next? Go back, not back to the country? Stay? (...) I made this movie by consulting erstwhile chief of staff Stanisław Maczek, then colonel and later general Franciszek Skibiński. Before the collaud, I showed this movie to him and all the soldiers who lived in Warsaw. On the screen, things were amazing for them: their uniforms, their flag, their tanks, and the tragic scene, as these tanks go to crap. I made that movie in terrible conditions. I was not given the operator I wanted, and I was given the operator – who said to me all 3rd day, “Why are we doing a movie about these thugs?” Władysław Forbert was his name and he was to watch over me. Of course, the money for that movie was highly small. In the armored division film, I had 1 tank and 1 caterpillar transporter at my disposal! The remainder of the tanks were wooden skeletons covered with planks. The end consequence is simply a large credit to the phase designer, my friend, AK-owiec, who is already dead Wiesław Sniadecki. So this show for Skibiński and those armadillos who throw themselves around my neck, hug, cry out of emotion that they've seen the time erstwhile there's a movie about them. Fortunately, I was offered another manager of another movie band – Ludwik Starski. It seemed like the movie was made in spite of my erstwhile boss. And finally, there's a colludation that works for me. In total, the movie was praised, but 3 people did not speak: Bossak, Ford and Jakubowska. It was a Camaryla who decided everything that happened in the Polish movie (...) Nevertheless, the movie entered the screens and was watched by 1 and a half million viewers, but attacked him Krzysztof Teodor Teplitz in the review "For an easy debut", in which he drank and demanded that I be removed from the Polish directors".
It was after these events that the attitude toward Bohdan changed. Many film-makers associated with sectarian environments in the organization have stopped speaking to him. Persistent assault in environments related to Ford, Boss and Forbert. Bohdan was expected to be doing at that time in the Polish-Soviet movie “A interrupted flight” about a shot down russian pilot. It's expected to be perfect, but it's inactive quiet. divided went to Edward Zajićk And he hears, "Bohdan, I don't know what's going on, but I met a Boss, who said you wouldn't make a movie for at least 5 years." shortly he was summoned to the Minister Tadeusz Zaorski (father of Andrzej and Janusz) and he hears “Mr. Bohdan, you know that you are to make the first Polish-Soviet film, and I want an experienced manager to make it. Leonard Buczkowski will do it, but you prepared the script, you will be the second director” (the second manager did not become). He besides promised him that he would do the next films on his own. Over the years, each movie was approved, but another manager received it. This forced unemployment continued until 1968. That's erstwhile Bohdan hit the target. Richard Gontar To the PPR meeting. Besides, this is the first time I heard about it. At this gathering from the grandstand, Zaorski would say, “I will never forgive myself for breaking Bohdan Poręba’s life for so many years.” Then Poręba furiously stormed the stands and said, “Minister, not for this reason my father fought for his homeland, so that now any minister would decide my wasted or not wasted life” 1968 was the restoration of artistic activity. This year, Bohdan besides joined the Party, which was not as easy as many seem. His candidacy was rejected twice. And in the organization itself, he had a sharp fight with the criminal himself. Adam HumerWho publically called Poręba a fascist.
He was active in a number of national, border and patriotic organizations. He collaborated with Stanisław Tymiński and Andrzej Lepper. He felt that the first had failed, and he should have stood by him. He published in “Polish Thought”, ‘Country’, ‘Veterans’ and ‘Community’.
I had the large honor of being friends and calling my friend Bohdan Poręba. We have worked together in organisations opposed to globalisation, including the Association “Not for the European Union”. We visited any Europe together – we were in Minsk, Bratislava, Prague, Paris and Budapest. I listened attentively how beautifully and wisely he spoke about Poland. I admired the will to fight for a fairer and stronger homeland. erstwhile he was in Silesia, he stayed at my house. We spent many hours talking about different topics – sometimes over coffee, sometimes over vodka. He was mad at me erstwhile I said "politics screwed up your career."
I remember 3 conversations in particular. About Wojciech Kilar, Janusz Kidawa and his defence by a judaic female Dora Kacnelson. He considered the first to be the top artist of our time. He wrote in “Polish Thoughts”: “Today I learned about the death of undoubtedly the top composer of classical music (though not only). He was a national composer with an identity in his heart and mind. I was fortunate and honored to work with him twice on films in which music shaped Polishness.” He considered Kilar an excellent artist. He admired him completely. In the second one, Janusz Kidawa saw himself too. After his death, he wrote, “You joined a group of patriot directors who were increasing up on unemployment: Jerzy Gabrielski, the pioneers of the conflict of Silesian miners with abroad capital in the 1939 movie “Black Diamonds”, which waited 42 years for the premiere. Jerzy Gabrielski, was as well as another hounded by the same mafia by our joint educator-director Antoni Bohdziewicz, who directed the photo-film lecture of the Faculty of Mobilization Propaganda of the AK (the "Raj") and did so on behalf of the president of Warsaw Stefan Starzyński. And you joined those directors, too. You didn't deficiency civilian courage. Together with Ryszard Gontar, you made a 1968 movie “The Righteous” about the rescue of Jews by the Polish population. The movie was telling the fact and they did not forgive you anymore” He thought the Kidawas had blocked the creative possibilities. He thought they hurt him. He'd alternatively talk about hurting his friend than his own. The 3rd individual was Dora Kacnelson. Bohdan Poręba loved her. She was besides his shield erstwhile various anti-Polish environments tried to beat him with anti-Semitism. She's a white-headed Jew. Historian, literary student and illustrious writer, investigator of the past of the east Borders and Polish exiles. She was a vice president of the judaic community in Drohobych and an activist of the Society of Culture of the Polish Drohobic Land. She is simply a Ukrainian expert, a critic of attempts to rehabilitate flagism. Bohdan called her “The judaic of large Poland”. He was defending him against ridiculous charges.
A friend of Bohdan besides had flaws – the main 1 is confidence. He believed in people's good intentions, he thought many people were friends, and then they let him down. He always followed the slogans: "It is not crucial who comes from where and where he was, only what he wants to do for Poland" and "There is no pre-war, underground, folk, third, fourth, seventh Poland, only 1 Poland, and only the circumstances in which it exists change. Poland was besides Poland, due to the fact that Poland is us all. Poland is the graves, the earth and everything Poles built on it. Poland is history. Poland is faith, language, culture. This is all Poland.” He experienced his failed political projects very strongly, and there were quite a few them.
Bohdan Poręba died in 2014, was buried at the Northern Municipal Cemetery in Warsaw. I was at a funeral, of course. I remembered the scene of Bohdan Poręba's farewell – next to each another stood the leader of the right-wing-national SN "Szczerzbień" Marian Baranski, associate of KC PZPR Albin Siwak and Chief president of the judaic Cemetery Foundation “Gęsia” Boleslaw Senycer. Even after his death, he combined Polish patriots. I would very much like Poles to love their own Motherland like hell.

Łukasz Jastrzębski.
