One of the breaks at work with a spatula is to view the area. Dr. David leads us through a large cemetery. We pass hundreds of crosses and monuments dedicated to individual nations – Serbs, Russians, Italians, Britons. Our attention is drawn to the distinctive style, taller than another gravestones. The star David and the Hebrew alphabet presume that a Jewess is buried here. We meet Orthodox spiritual symbols elsewhere. We halt at the earliest burial sites. These are dozens of French prisoners of war graves. During planet War I, the camp and besides the cemetery were importantly enlarged. Many of the more than 90 1000 entents' soldiers have been left here forever. During the years of the next war in Lamsdorf there was a powerful camp complex. From the fall of 1939 to the spring of 1945, about 300,000 prisoners came here. Not everything's been tested. For respective days now, a squad of archaeologists has been working in excavation No. 5, in the part of the Old Jeniecki Cemetery close Łambinovic in Opole. The materials collected from the U.S. and Scottish archives indicated the anticipation of undiscovered and unknown burials. As volunteers, my colleague and I joined the squad at the minute erstwhile there were regular discolorations in the excavation signaling the grave pits. A day earlier, French bullets and a well-preserved dog tags were found close the excavation. It was a success. By keeping notes, we want to save not only the memorable facts, but to perpetuate the moments of our individual experiences. We decided that this volunteering, in addition to tangible aid to archaeologists, would consequence in chronicle, a book of poetry, or possibly a text to the press?
