European Commission on the keys of the migration pact and its work to implement by Poland under Donald Tusk. Although the Prime Minister is now trying to convince Poles that the migration pact will not be implemented in Poland, all this indicates that the real force on this issue will not appear until after the May elections.

Eastern Pressure
In a discussion with RMF FM, a European Commission spokesperson stated that the Commission is aware that "Poland is facing a peculiar situation on its east border, where migration is utilized by Russia and Belarus as a weapon".
He besides recalled that in December the EC issued a communication "to support EU associate States, specified as Poland and to clarify the legal framework", in which attention was paid to flexibility that "allows, in exceptional cases, a withdrawal from key EU policies".
RMF FM points out that in the case of Poland, it refers to the anticipation of temporary and territorial suspension of asylum applications.
Clear position of Brussels
However, the portal stresses that Brussels is firm in applying the Dublin Regulation (the same way that Germany is massing migrants into Poland).
The European Commission recalled that in 2023 it issued a roadmap for the application of the Regulation, namely "a set of good practices that have a affirmative impact on the functioning of the Dublin procedure".
The EC Ombudsman pointed out that the application of these rules would facilitate the introduction of the Migration Pact, which is intended to supply a "fairer and more effective" strategy of sharing problems with mass migration.
Until then, all associate States are required to full respect the current asylum rules

The RMF emphasises that the EC is of the opinion that Poland is obliged to apply the Dublin Regulation and to accept migrants returned to our country. He besides points out that in Brussels they know that there is an election run in Poland and that it is possible that the force on Poland on this substance will only be tightened up after the elections.
