If the elections were to change anything, they'd be long gone..

"Matrix is simply a system, Neo. This strategy is our enemy. erstwhile you're inside, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The minds of the people we're trying to save, but until we do, they're inactive part of this system, and that makes them our enemies. You gotta realize that most of these people aren't ready to disconnect. And many of them are so accustomed, so hopelessly dependent on the strategy that they will fight in his defense" – it is simply a fragment Morpheus talks to Neo in the movie Matrixwhich premiered in 1999. Are you ready to disconnect?

For most of my adult life, I went to elections. Democracy, elections, citizens decide. And specified fairy tales for “businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters”. After all, the election performance has always been played according to the same mechanisms, intentions and values. The hearts, souls and brains of voters and candidates are the same. Only phase and decoration changes, thanks to the exponential improvement of technology. I urge watching the spots of our action “How to win elections? Dick says, how to spin!’

What competence does the president of Poland have?

Can the head of state do more than watch the chandelier and veto the bill? Maybe.

Firstly, the president may submit a bill to amend the Constitution.

Secondly, the president has the right to order, with the consent of the Senate, a national referendum on matters of peculiar importance to the State.

"President Andrzej Duda on May 3, 2017, during the celebration of the Constitution's Day, announced an unprecedented undertaking – sharing with the Nation the creation of a fresh fundamental law. This nonsubjective was to be served by a consultation referendum, understood as the beginning of a serious debate and an indication of what changes the public is looking for and what attention should be paid to parliamentarians and experts working on the draft Constitution," we read on the President.pl website.

I remember an avalanche of meetings, debates, proposals for change. Institute of civilian Affairs as part of the "Citizens decide" run prepared expert study on the Constitution for CitizensIn which we introduced demands to increase the impact of citizens on the decision-making process in our country.

Invitation from @President study related #Constitution for Citizens. @AndrzejDuda Thank you for your interest. https://t.co/a8rrc9E6sFpic.twitter.com/8OoWPznGyi

However, it was besides much for organization interests. On July 25, 2018, the legislature of the Republic of Poland did not agree to the order of Andrzej Duda of a national referendum on changes to the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.

Unfortunately, referendums in our country are a dead institution. There is no political will to benefit from the recommendations of the civic communities we presented in Citizens' mention Report. There is only a will to usage referendums in interparty games, as was the case with president Bronisław Komorowski's 2015 referendum.

Returning to the powers of the President, thirdly, the head of state has the right of legislative initiative, i.e. he can submit draft laws. An example from the front of our citizens' run "Cash Gun". In 2021, Andrzej Duda directed the bill to the Sejm to amend the Payment Services Act. Result? The pages “Here you can only pay without cash” disappeared from the store sites. The Act guarantees you that you decide whether you pay the payment in cash or settle without cash for the goods or services with the seller. Before that, consumers could face refusals to accept cash in stores and service outlets due to the fact that the issue of cash honouring was not explicitly regulated by law.

Finally, fourthly, Article 126(2) of the Constitution of the Republic states that "The president of the Republic shall guarantee that the Constitution is respected, he shall safeguard the sovereignty and safety of the State and the integrity and indivisibility of its territory".

It is worth appreciating president Komorowski, who within the framework Public Debate Forum organised cyclical meetings beyond divisions on topics crucial to average citizens.
