The Świętokrzyska Brigade was the only Polish guerrilla division during planet War II, which as a guerrilla unit liberated prisoners of the concentration camp outside Poland. It was a women's camp in Holiszów, a subcamp of KL Flossenburg, in which over 1,000 prisoners of different nationalities were incarcerated.
The Świętokrzyska NSZ Brigade was 1 of the largest guerrilla formations operating on Polish lands. Her soldiers fought at the same time with the German occupier and with the communist underground, rejecting the legal Polish authorities in exile and constituting the avant-garde of the fresh russian occupation. Thanks to a happy coincidence and skillful diplomacy of the commanders of the full unit, they managed to scope the West, avoiding the crash and from the Wehrmacht or Waffen SS, and the Red Army. It was besides the only branch of the Polish independency underground to establish tactical contact with Western Allied troops, to enter into their ranks and to cooperate tactically in the fight against Germany during the last days of planet War II. There is no evidence (except for these communists) for cooperation between the Świętokrzyska Brigade and Germany.

"Peerel publicist did not leave a dry thread on him and his soldiers. They were made of a simple band of robberies, and their commander was a black character with hands stained with blood of innocent people, including Jews, which became an excuse to call him an anti-Semite. Many historians believe that the “currency” of the “Fire” biography is simply a masterpiece of communist propaganda. But still, the memory and legend of Major. The “fire” continues to this day, not only in Podhale, but throughout Poland" - we read on National Memorial Institute website dedicated to cursed soldiers.
