The fact that the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenski decided to give 1 of the Ukrainian army units the name "UpA Heroes", has been said for respective days now. It is hard not to express its outrage at glorifying criminals liable for these terrible crimes in Poles. It is good that president Nawrocki decided to respond and recommended the removal of Volodymyr Zelensk Order of the White Eagle. It is not worthy to wear it individual who glorifies the murderers of Poles.
As I have already written, much has been written about this substance and it is hard to add something new. But I wonder if there is yet another aspect of this incident. After 4 years of war, I have large respect for Ukrainian soldiers, truly heroicly defending their homeland. His blood donation is simply a weapon and we're in front of a common enemy. And here I think that giving the military unit the name of the alleged "UPA heroes" is an apparent insult to them! What do you call soldiers by the name of a criminal organization? Do these soldiers execution savage civilians? Are they putting kids on the hook? Do they rape women? Do they kill civilians with ax? Did they do them to the Russians? I don't think so. due to the fact that if they were utilizing UPA methods, then Russian propaganda would have made it public. They're most likely honest, civilised soldiers. And at the same time they are named after the degenerates. Not by the Russians, but by his own president!
If I were those soldiers, I'd feel insulted. It's like the Polish unit was named after "Brothers of KBW and NKVD". Though it would be a small little insulting...
