BYD began in China pre-selling Sealion 08, the flagship SUV line Ocean. The model will be available as plug-in DM-i hybrid and full electric, with a five- or six-man cabin. The pre-sale launch announced on Thursday at Weibo Zhang Zhuo, head of Ocean line sales.

The BYD mobile application provides pre-sales prices:

from 230 1000 to 260 1000 yuan (126 1000 – 143 1000 PLN) for the DM-i version and
from 250,000 to 280 1000 yuan (137 1000 – PLN 154 thousand) for an electrical variety.

The booking requires a deposit of 2,000 yuan, returned at any time; the depositor is given precedence in the production queue.

Sealion 08 DM-i is the first SUV BYD with plug-in hybrid equipped with ultra-fast charging, referred to by the company as flash charge. The car debuted on April 24 at the Beijing Motor Show. The latest generation of this technology reaches the highest power of 1500 kW with a single gun, and the second generation Blade battery can be charged from 10 to 97 percent in 9 minutes. The body measures 5115 mm long, 1999 mm wide and 1800 mm high, at a wheelbase of 3030 mm.
