"He made an idiot of himself." Czarzasty settles Nawrocki after the defeat of Orbán

“The president on our behalf, due to the fact that he is the president of Poland, just made a fool of himself” – said Czarzasty in the program "Graphiti" on Polsat News air. The marshal linked this assessment straight to Nawrocki's March visit to Budapest, which took place a fewer weeks before the parliamentary elections and sparked a sharp dispute between the president and the Tusk government.

A favour that didn't pay off.

The context of the visit was clear from the beginning. In May 2025, during the CPAC conference in Budapest, Viktor Orbán supported Nawrocki in the 2nd circular of the Polish presidential election, in a rematch on 23 March the president visited Orbán. The Hungarian Prime Minister immediately praised the photograph with a Polish guest on social media, and the visit was widely read as symbolic political support before the vote.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the visit was against the recommendations and opinions of the Polish government. Minister of abroad Affairs Radosław Sikorski made it clear: “Who supports Orbán today, he helps Putin.” The President's office repelled these allegations, explaining that it was about conventional celebrations of the Polish-Hungarian relationship Day and that the president in no way expressed his support for the elections. According to the IBRIS survey for WP, as much as 44.7 percent of respondents evaluated the visit negatively, positively 36.5%.

Record Disaster

The results from Budapest left no illusions. After counting almost 99 percent of the votes TISZA gained over 53 percent, Fidesz about 38 percent. The opposition gained adequate mandates to change the constitution, and attendance exceeded 77 percent – a evidence in the post-communist past of Hungary. Viktor Orbán called Péter Magyar and congratulated him on his victory.

For Black, the consequence was a confirmation of his assessment. "I'm ashamed of that. all Pole at the minute is ashamed that the president of Poland simply goes to Putin's closest friend” said the marshal. He added that Orbán's full policy of fresh years was, in his opinion, compromising, and Nawrocki did not reasonably measure the political situation in Hungary.
