After 52 years, the Polish consulate in St. Petersburg, Russia, has been closed. "This is simply a retaliation to the decision of the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs to close the Russian consulate in Poznań, after it was found to be carrying out Russian sabotage in Poland," the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs reports. Ambassador Krzysztof Krajewski expressed hope that the Polish consular post "will return to St. Petersburg in better times."
