Austrian president Alexander Van der Bellen has entrusted the mission of forming a government to Herbert Kickl. He is the leader of the far-right and pro-Russian Freedom organization of Austria. The president made the announcement after a gathering with Kickl that lasted more than an hour. Earlier, Karl Nehammer of the Austrian People's organization announced that he was resigning from the position of chancellor after the coalition talks failed.
