Although the United States Air Force began the implementation of the theoretical successor F-16C/D - that is, the F-35A aircraft - and it has already achieved operational readiness many years ago - the past of the Fighting Falcon service in this formation is far from complete. This is due on the 1 hand to the delays of the F-35 program and the costs of this machine, and on the another hand to the start of re-examinations on what this "real" successor of the F-16 should be.
