Although the United States Air Force began implementing the theoretical successor to the F-16C/D - that is, the F-35A aircraft - and already reached operational readiness many years ago, the past of the Fighting Falcons' service in this formation is far from complete. This is due to the delays of the F-35 program and the cost of this machine, and on the another hand to the beginning of reconsideration about what this “real” successor to the F-16 should be.
