Ekho Kavkaza: In the homes of erstwhile Georgian politicians were reviewed

In the homes and apartments of erstwhile Prime Minister Irakli Garibaszwili, erstwhile Head of State safety Service Grigola Lilaszwili and erstwhile lawyer General Otar Parcaladzi, a review was carried out, according to Georgia's lawyer General.

As a consequence of searches conducted in the homes of Garibaszwili, Lilaszwili and Parcaladze, as well as persons associated with them and another erstwhile officials, 7 002 200 US dollars and 136,000 lari in cash were secured. This was reported during the briefing with the State safety Service (SBP).

According to this institution, but for cash198 jewellery and watches were confiscated, costly paintings, documentation of respective 1000 pages, 50 mobile phones and 119 electronic devices.

The prosecution did not answer the questions of journalists or state on which articles the investigation was initiated. Later, SBP reported that no 1 is presently being questioned or detained.

There have been regular reports in the media of possible detention of erstwhile Prime Minister and erstwhile ruling organization leader Irakli Garibaszwili and erstwhile head of SBP Grigol Liluashwili in connection with corruption cases. A number of erstwhile co-workers and officials of Georgian Dream have already been detained, including erstwhile Minister of Defence of Juanszer Burczuladze and his brother-in-law, as well as erstwhile Deputy Minister of Economy Romeo Mikautadze. Bichiko Paikidze, whose godson is the erstwhile head of SBP Grigol Lilaszvili, is besides wanted.

The name Grigola Lilaszwili appeared in the media besides in the context of the events of October 4. According to tv sources, expression acted as a double agent, maintaining contact with the opposition while informing the authorities about its actions. Prime Minister Irakli Kobachiga had previously stated that a erstwhile associate of Dreams had actually cooperated with the opposition, but did not give his name.

Otar Parcaladze served as Georgia's lawyer General during the November–December 2013 period. In 2023 the US imposed sanctions on him, justifying this "the strengthening of Russian influence in Georgia". According to the media, surviving in Moscow and maintaining contacts with the Russian political elite of Parcalaga, he continues to keep close relations with the government of Dreams. On May 9, 2025, he was among the guests of the triumph Parade at Red Square in Moscow. He was besides sanctioned by the United Kingdom and Lithuania.
