Bumar-Łaby will get technologies for servicing K2 and K2PL tanks in its facilities. This will be the effect of the agreements concluded on Monday by the Armed Forces Agency. The agreements signed present are the implementation of the provisions Contract for the acquisition of 116 K2 Korean tanks and 64 K2PL cars August of this year.
The Armed Forces Agency present signed 2 agreements concerning K2 program. Both include the transfer of technology for servicing, handling and repair of K2 Black Panther tanks – in the GF version and yet in the K2PL version. The licence agreement was concluded with the maker – Hyundai Rotem Company, while the sublicensive speech with the Mechanic Works "Bumar-Łabada".
Gen. Dyw. Artur Kuptel, Head of the Armed Forces Agency, stressed that the essential condition for the implementation of the programme is the existence of an entity with appropriate competences and experience in the Polish industry. As he pointed out, the existing contracts carried out by Bumar-Łabada prove that this company is the best partner to conclude a sublicensive agreement.
– We are committed to supporting the improvement of Poland's security, the improvement of the Polish defence manufacture and the process of technology transfer and providing method support so that we can accomplish our goal together," said Jun Mo Seo, elder Vice president of Hyundai Rotem Company.
The Head of the Armed Forces Agency besides stressed the importance of the agreements concluded. – present we are witnessing the signing of a contract on technology transfer in the field of service, service and renovation. How crucial is this? Tanks are supplied with a two-year guarantee, but they later require constant care, both in systemic and environmental terms and above all in technological terms. Only in this way can they always be efficient, decently exploited and, if necessary, modernised," said Gen. Kuptel.
This is another agreement concluded under the K2 programme on October 8th. It provides for the equipment of the Mechanical Plant "Bumar-Łabada" with specialized equipment and tools essential for the launch in Poland of the final assembly and production of K2PL primary tanks, as well as accompanying vehicles based on the same chassis.
