Last night, I read that Russian president Vladimir Putin had my esteemed ambassador and peculiar envoy, Steve Witkoff, waited for more than 9 hours, while there was actually no waiting," Donald Trump wrote on Sunday on the community portal Truth.
The US president stressed that another meetings with Russian representatives were besides held during the visit. "Of course they took any time, but they were very productive. From that minute on everything went rapidly and smoothly, and all the signs in heaven and earth seem, hopefully, very good!” he said.
“The only reason they invented this communicative is due to the fact that they are sick degenerates... That's why they lost ratings, audiences and respect," added Donald Trump.
Trump envoy talks in Moscow
Trump thus referred to media reports that Witkoff, who visited Moscow on Thursday, had to wait over 8 hours to meet Putin, while this 1 had a gathering with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko.
"We do not know for certain whether the minute of Mr Lukashenko's visit was intentional, but it surely did not seem random. It looked like Putin's classical play to show who was in charge," Sky News wrote on Sunday.
The gathering between Witkoff and Putin took place 2 days after the US and Ukraine agreed on a 30-day ceasefire proposal. Putin stated that Russia supported the U.S. proposal to end the conflict by peaceful means, but stressed that any ceasefire should lead to lasting peace and so must destruct the underlying causes of the conflict. He besides suggested that the proposal to suspend arms submitted to them was beneficial to Ukrainians who could usage this period to mobilise and arm them.
