On the second day of Defence24 Day, 1 of the panels discussed the Russian doctrine of the usage of the atomic arsenal, the risks associated with it, the policy of Russian blackmail with these weapons, as well as the means of defence and deterrence of NATO. The panel was moderated by William Alberque of the global Institute for strategical Studies. Speakers included James Jay Carafano (an expert on national safety and abroad policy challenges, The Heritage Foundation), Robert Pszczel (Puławski Foundation expert, erstwhile manager of the NATO Information Office in Moscow) and Anna Maria Dyner (Polish Institute of global Affairs).
