Ukraine received 850 000 missiles in 2025 as part of the Czech ammunition initiative, informed the Czech Ministry of Defence on Thursday. 320 1000 of them are the most needed in the 155 mm bullet field. The initiative of Prague is criticised by the Czech opposition.

The point of the initiative, which involves respective countries, was questioned in a fresh interview with the Reuter agency by the erstwhile Prime Minister and leader of the ANO opposition movement Andrej Babisz. It is his formation that has the best chance of winning in the parliamentary elections announced at the beginning of October.

Babish announced that if he took power, he would resign from the ammunition initiative, which he felt was opaque and besides costly. According to the erstwhile Prime Minister, the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) could presume work for it.

Babish's criticism and his thought were rejected by Prime Minister Petr Fiala and defence Minister Jan Chernochov. In their opinion, resigning from the initiative would endanger the safety of the state and could harm the global reputation of the Czech Republic.

Czech politicians stated this week that Prague would not join the initiative of buying US weapons by NATO countries. The decision was explained by the organisation and implementation of ammunition purchases.
