CitizenGO: Update on run against EU Parenting Certificate
date:27 June 2024 Editor: Anna
Ministers of Justice held a debate on the proposed regulation on "cross-border parenting" – a extremist initiative which aims to force all EU countries to recognise all forms of parenting, including the same-sex parenting and parenting established through surrogacy.
Despite the EU's strenuous efforts, the Council of the European Union failed to get unanimous support for the proposed regulation.
This was mostly due to opposition, among others, from Italy, Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia, which experienced force from us and over 160,000 European citizens - we have ensured that they do not submit to the extremist left-wing agenda of the EU.

The exchange of views during the debate focused in peculiar on the cases of parenting from surrogacy. This is now the main obstacle preventing further advancement in the negotiations on this proposal. Thanks to the joint efforts of thousands of citizens, the proposal was not put to the vote at the meeting, but was postponed for further consideration.
That is why our work is very important! Let us look at what we have achieved together:
- I'm sorry. The opposition of these countries has been importantly reinforced by the force we have exerted on ministers of justice throughout Europe.
- I'm sorry. Over 160.000 signatures – all voice was a clear call for action that reached the EU Council and could not be ignored.
- I'm sorry. Surogacy was the main subject of the debate, which means that our concerns have been taken into account,
- I'm sorry. We have made the governments that were not certain what position to take aware of the dangerous aspects of this proposal.
This proposal should stay out of the way for the next time, which gives us time to effectively organise our next steps.
Moreover, the forthcoming Hungarian Presidency of the Council makes it even little likely that this issue will reappear in the next six months - it is not on their list of priorities, and we will guarantee that this remains the case.
Looks like it's not a very popular proposition. I see that ministers are truly skeptical and are afraid about this extremist bill. But, like everything else, we request to make certain that our ministers are on the right side and do not succumb to force from the EU and the LGBT lobby behind this.
I would like to stress that your commitment and participation are crucial to the next nonsubjective achieved. Together we make real changes!
CitizenGO is simply a powerful defender of household values at EU level and beyond.
However, it is your signature, your voice and your unbreakable commitment that play the most crucial function in these successes – that is what is of large importance!
Together we have shown that we can defend children's rights and support household values, even erstwhile they are most attacked.
But this isn't the end of our work. shortly this proposal will return, and they will proceed to search the chance to push it through. However, this success proves that we can make a change erstwhile it is the most important.
