With Fr Mark Czech chaplain of the Hospice of “House of Divine Providence” in Białystok on the peculiar care of Our woman of Fatima over the hospice and the celebration (13 May 2024) of the introduction of the relics of Saint Jacinta and Francis to the hospice chapel, Adam Białous talks.
In the memory of Our woman of Fatima on 13 May, the relics of Saints Jacinta and Francis – children to whom Our woman gave the message to the full planet – will be solemnly introduced to the chapel in the Hospice of “House of Divine Providence”. How will these celebrations take place?
They will be started by Mass at 11 a.m., celebrated in the hospice chapel of St. Raphael the Archangel. Later will be the solemn introduction of the relic of the holy siblings – Jacinta and Francis. They will be placed next to the relic of St John Paul II, who was a large worshiper of Our woman of Fatima. He felt that she was the 1 who saved him from death as a consequence of an assassination carried out on the pope. John Paul II showed the planet the actuality of the Fatima message, that wars and cataclysms are not the destiny that through conversion, prayer people can influence the course of history. The relics of the holy shepherds of Fatima will besides have in the chapel a “sociality” of the relic of the blessed priest Michael Sopoćko.
Where did the relics of St. Jacinta and St. Francis, which will yet find their place in the hospice chapel, come to Białystok?
Fr Dominik Budzicki, vicar of the parish of Our woman of Fatima in Białystok, brought them straight from Fatima. Earlier, we sent a peculiar request to the Shrine of Fatima to hand over our hospice to these relics. erstwhile our request was considered positive, we began conducting a peculiar service in our hospice chapel. I think it will be permanently included in the calendar of hospice prayers. I mean the service of the first Saturday of the month. There is then a Mass, a Conference and a Rosary recited in the face of Hostia. A strong link between our hospice of Divine Providence and the parish of Our woman of Fatima is simply a group of devout people who transplanted from the Fatima Church to our chapel the Marian service of the first Saturdays. Our chapel has a Marian sketch. all day a prayer of the rosary is recited, now a May service.
The infirmary of Divine Providence in Białystok, its staff and patients, seemingly Our woman of Fatima is taking peculiar care of...
It's true. There are many of these signs. The Whitestock stationary hospice was specified the first facility open in Poland. Interestingly, this had its time precisely on May 13, 1992. So on the day of the memory of Our woman of Fatima. What is even more interesting about the present, large hospice building was dedicated and opened on 13 May 2002. In addition to what no 1 had planned, the infirmary building was built in the parish of Our woman of Fatima, which was eradicated during the century of Fatima apparitions. This construction was besides 1 large miracle, I believe that it was provoked by the intercession of Our Lady. For it was possible to erect a very rapidly large building of a hospice erstwhile the investor or Society of Friends of the sick in Białystok had practically no own funds. In mysterious ways, they appeared. Walls grew and resources grew. Donors began to donate money to build a hospice in specified a way that there was no downtime in construction. erstwhile we enter the hospice hall, on the left there is simply a beautiful figure of Our woman of Fatima, that is, she already greets our patients from the threshold and gives them care. The memory of Our woman of Fatima is always celebrated in a solemn way in our hospice. It's our, you might say, interior holiday.
How did your service start at the hospice?
In December 2018, my father went to the Hospice of “House of Divine Providence”, from which I believe he left for the Father's home in January 2019, after 21 days of residence, just before his 81st birthday. I can say that at that time I heard God’s voice calling me to the hospice service. Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda, then Metropolitan of Białostocki agreed to this, I received a nomination and began serving in hospice with the beginning of February 2020. Our woman of Fatima, of course, is not missing in this story, due to the fact that I have been a resident in the parish of Our woman of Fatima for respective years and feel her tremendous support in my hard hospice service.
Do you have any circumstantial past now?
Yeah. There was an old man in our hospice. He opened up to me, even though he was an atheist at the time. He started making a story. He was raised without God, he did not accept any sacraments due to the fact that his father was an UB officer. There was force and alcoholism at home. Our patient, as a 17-year-old, followed his father's way to the crime. 1 time he took his weapon quietly and shot a cab driver. He spent years in prison. His father should besides be there, but as we know, UB officers killed Polish patriots legally. My talker to an old age lived far from God and faith. Only erstwhile he got sick and went to our hospice did he miss him. He was profoundly remorseful. He asked me to baptize him and give him the Sacrament of the Eucharist. With the approval of my church superiors, I did. Suddenly, he lived spiritually and physically. He no longer needs oxygen to breathe. A couple of weeks they worked without any devices. He accepted Holy Communion. He stayed long in the chapel and before the figure of Our woman of Fatima. He was truly happy – and he went to God.
Thank you for talking.
