The fresh regulation defines which wood can be utilized in energy. It aims to reduce the burning of valuable wood from Polish forests. In July 2024, the task was addressed to interministerial and social consultations. It will now enter into force after the method notification process has been completed. - This order is ready. The EU will be notified in May. We agreed on a three-month implementation period. At the end of August and September, the regulation on the definition of energy wood enters into force - said Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Mikołaj Dorożała, quoted by portal samorzadowy.pl. The upcoming changes frightened Poles. However, the Ministry of Climate and Environment decided to calm the countrymen and issued a peculiar communication for households.
The main nonsubjective of the introduction of fresh regulations is to destruct the phenomenon of burning wood, but only in professional energy. - The Ministry of Climate and Environment informs that the regulation does not prohibit the burning of wood in individual households or fireplaces - explained Dorożala. Restrictions mainly concern power plants where the burning of wood is little efficient and involves major energy losses - he explained.

What are the fresh regulations on wood burning? Not applicable to holdings
According to the calculations, the deputy minister may vary from tens of thousands to 1.5 million metres of wood. The energy wood to be reduced is an industrially unusable natural material with reduced method value. The fresh regulations will divide them into 2 groups: circular wood and non-round wood. It will be considered energy if:
its advanced diameter shall be equal to or greater than 5 cm without bark or 7 cm in bark at a dimension of up to 3 m,
its lower diameter will be little than 5 cm without bark or 7 cm in bark, regardless of the dimension of the wood.
In addition to the fact that wood is considered to be energetic, it must have at least 1 drawback, e.g. soft rot, besides much curvature, brown substance covering at least 50 percent of the cross-sectional area of 1 of the foreheads, at least 50 percent of the surface or a burning covering at least 50 percent of the cross-sectional area of 1 of the foreheads.
