Cathay Pacific Begins fresh Flights to Dallas With Airbus A350s

HONG KONG- Cathay Pacific (CX) officially launched non-stop passenger flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on April 24, 2025.

This milestone marks the 6th new passenger destination added by the Cathay Group this year, with a total of 15 new destinations announced for 2025 and more planned.

The new route represents a significant expansion of Cathay Pacific’s North American network, strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a global hub while offering customers enhanced travel options and connectivity.

Cathay Director of Customer Travel, Erica Peng, and Airport Authority Hong Kong Executive Director, Airport Operations, Steven Yiu Siu-chung, gathered at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to commemorate the inaugural service.

“The launch of our direct passenger flights between Hong Kong and Dallas for the very first time demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with convenient access to the most exciting destinations around the world from our Hong Kong hub,” said Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau.

“As a Group, we are continuing to add more ports to our passenger network, which will exceed 100 destinations within the first half of this year.”

Enhanced Connectivity

The new service creates valuable connections beyond Dallas, with Lau noting, “With our Cathay Pacific codeshares and other flight options, customers can connect to domestic destinations in the United States as well as destinations in Central and South America via Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.”

The airline also aims to attract travellers from Dallas (DFW) and throughout the Americas to visit Hong Kong (HKG) or connect to numerous destinations across Asia and beyond through Cathay’s extensive network.

Cathay Pacific (CX) operates 4 weekly round-trip flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Dallas (DFW) utilising Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. These modern planes feature 3 cabin classes: Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. The flight schedule operates as follows (all times local):

Hong Kong to Dallas (CX876)

  • Departure: 16:05
  • Arrival: 17:55
  • Operating days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Dallas to Hong Kong (CX875)

  • Departure: 22:55
  • Arrival: 04:35 + 2
  • Operating days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

The new passenger service to Dallas (DFW) complements Cathay Cargo’s existing freighter operations to the city via Anchorage (ANC).

Cathay Cargo plans approximately 40 weekly round-trip freighter flights to North America during the summer season, reinforcing the airline’s comprehensive approach to serving both passenger and cargo markets in the region.

Cathay Routes for 2025

During the peak summer season, Cathay Pacific (CX) will operate more than 110 weekly round-trip flights to 8 North American destinations: Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Toronto (YYZ), and Vancouver (YVR).

Beyond Dallas (DFW), Cathay Pacific (CX) continues its aggressive growth strategy with several upcoming route launches:

  • Urumqi (URC): April 28
  • Rome (FCO): June 5
  • Munich (MUC): June 16
  • Brussels (BRU): August 3
